akroorka
Jadeite--well pretty close for sure. The glass maker Akro Agate did use the same glass recipes for their marbles and glass wear. In the marble world we would call this one a "Gamer" or a solid. It was more than likely part of a game such as "Chinese Checkers". akroorka
Sorry Maycee, I should have extended a welcome to the Marble Connection, Also, I am refering to the upper right hand marble in your images--not the glower. Akro Agate did market the name "Jadite" in the glass ware that they produced. I do not recall seeing any reference to the marbles that they produced as "Jadite" however--I may be wrong and some help here may be needed. Thanks, and welcome once again. Maycee
Thanks for welcoming me! I was curious about the glower, the other green ones in the pic are probably junk. …I’ve seen some online selling as Christensen jadeite marbles, so wanted to find out more info on this glower. Well, actually I have a collection I inherited so there’s a lot more I’ll be looking to learn and identify! 😄
akroorka
11 hours ago, Maycee said: are probably junk. If you hang around long enough you will find that there are very few junk marbles. Some are way expensive and some are just collectable and cheap. There is actually a group of collectors that cherise beach washed marbles--based in Chicago of all places--- I appreciate the passion there. I wish that I could remember her name---not----oh well, she has posted here is all that I can say. Collect what you like and-- Marble--On!!
