carolk
Thank you, John for your time and valuable advice. I agree that I need to sort and the categories make sense. The problem is that I have no clue how to do that. and no clue as to who I can have do that. The next problem is the "sell this group part". No clue as to how to do that either. I am not at all knowledgeable about the marbles. I am just a kind person trying to help out JIm's kids by administering his estate. I certainly want his kids to receive the appropriate amount of money for this collection. Can you please help me with any of that? or send me in the direction as to how to find someone who can? Any idea of the value of the collection or parts of the collection? Thank you from Carol
Shamrock Marbles
Carol, Without giving specifics, can you share the closest large city (e.g. Chicago, Kansas City, Honolulu, etc.)? There may be someone close to physically visit.

They will need to be a person very well versed with contemporaries, as well as some good basis in vintage handmades and some minimal grasp of Jabos/DAS etc. There aren't that many of those people about.

carolk
Hello, I have sorted the marbles into art glass marbles and machine made marbles. Here is the link to the 2 folders in Google photo. They have been separated into art glass marbles and machine made marbles. Here are the links to the 2 albums in Google photo: Link to Google photo album of ART GLASS MARBLES: https://photos.app.goo.gl/VY5FCPhevEYt4Vqz5 Link to Google photo album of MACHINE MADE MARBLES: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Z7DKqV8CtuUQhuYq5 I would appreciate your appraisal of the marbles and thoughts as to the best way to sell them. I would like to sell them in bulk. Thank you for your help. The following is a summary of the marble folder organization and how to identify the marble for reference: Photo numbers 1-29 (Art glass marbles) : clear plastic bins containing random marbles with different colors, sizes, etc that are placed in separate dividers. Refer to specific marbles as follows: 1. Tell me the bin number 2. Tell me the row number (from 1-6, top to bottom) 3. Tell me the letter of the cube in each row (a-f left to right) or Tell me the general location of the marble in the row (6 marbles from left side) 4. provide a description or photo of the specific marble Example: I have a question about Bin number 5, Marble Row 3, Cube C, the blue marble with black dots. Photo numbers 30-92 (machine made) : clear plastic bins that contain random marbles with different sizes, colors etc placed in rows. Refer to specific marbles as following 1. Photo numbers 401-788 (machine made) : small individually bagged marbles with writing on the majority of bags. Most of the writings state what the artist named the marble or collection. Tell me the photo number of the bagged marble set. Photo numbers 1001-1077 (machine made) (1024,1027,1028,1041 are Art glass Marbles): boxed sets from various artists or shops. These numbers also contain random marble pieces such as a dandelion crafted into a marble. Tell me the photo number of the sets. Photo numbers 3001 - 3291 (Art glass marbles): individual signed marbles, The signatures on the marble are hard to capture, so please send a list of ones you would like further signature information.
