stonehenge4242
I was out at my local thrift village as usual today and found this Ravenswood buddy marbles set in original packaging. The netting is very fragile and has a hole at bottom and on side as well. It looks as if someone already tried to repair it at the bottom. It may be too far gone to fix, if not any ideas?? I got it for 40 dollars, I usually don't collect original box or packaging marbles, but I have found 3 other Ravenswood bags from the same seller and just couldn't pass it up. Any cool display ideas or fix it ideas would be appreciated, thanks for your help as always! I added a group shot of my complete sealed collection just to share!
akroorka
I would put on the scopes and glue them back together, one little drop at a time weeks on end. I for one discourage anyone trying to bring back any of this type unless they are beyond saving. The nets are hard to bring back to original life---even better is to display then as found—as you show. I just love this stuff. Nice finds here for sure. Nice images--great display as well. Shamrock Marbles
I would get a specimen display case (black cardboard, glass window and white batting). I would get some foam boarding and stack 2-3 layers. Then cut out a Christmas Stocking shape in the foam boarding. Put the boards in the box. Overlay with the batting. Put most of the marbles in the bag and insert into the cutout. Place some of the “spilled” marbles in the toe of the stocking.
