Help me how to identify my marbles

It is a slow process, and you will never know everything about marbles.

I only started really trying to ID and learn the varieties since around April this year, although I have loved these little glass spheres for a long time.

Start by learning different types: Learn the basics between swirls, patches, cats eyes, ribbons, etc.

Then try to figure out some of the basic traits of the different companies, Vitro has certain staple traits most of the time, as does Vacor, Peltier, Master Marble, Akro, Jabo, etc.

Take photos of at least 4 angles of a marble you want help with being Id'd, preferably in good light and on a grey or neutral background. Photography skills will improve over time, but some marbles are more difficult to photograph than others. Don't take the pics in your hand, if will almost never not be blurry.

There are good guides in Steph's Study Hall, read and learn.

Hope this helps a bit from another newer collector still learning a lot of the basics...
