beccaelena82
hi. I didnt think much of my dads collection of marbles when I was growing up. I got his collection when he passed away in 2000. Started looking through them after rediscovering them when cleaning out my moms storage in 2014. Started to do research on trying to identify them. It was a lot of info & not something I had time to do with the over 300 marbles I had. In 2018 a burglary happened at my home & several neighbors on same block. All the marbles were stolen along with 2/3 of everything I owned. To make things worse what was left was trashed. After getting bck on my feet I decided to try to replace the marbles. this was very difficult due to time & money. In 2019 I found a post on Marketplace for antique & vintage marbles for sale in my area. The lady I went to meet held them for me for 3 days, cause my schedule. I knew the price range for several I was looking for. I wasnt able to purchase the collection. The lady asked me why I was looking for certain marbles & I tld her the story of how my dads were stolen. On the spot she said I could have all of them for $250. I only had $120 on me & she let me take them that day & I paid off the balance in 2 weeks when I got paid. That is one of the kindest things anyone has done for me, when she didn't even know me. Last year I was diagnosed with Stage 3 PAH, a disease that effects my heart & lungs to which there's no cure. Im selling some of my things to help cover my medical & living expenses. wanting more help identifying marbles, determine price range & pass them on to someone who'll enjoy them. Ive been on several other marble collecting sites & havnt received much help or info from them.
