Guest browse4antiques
I recently acquired this red slag. I know that with this type of 9-pattern it's not possible to say for sure which company made it, but the cutoff has a distinct CA look. ... tankgrrl29
cool drizzle that gauzy-thin white is a CA characteristic too, isn't it?
slagmarble
The loopback at the seam in the bottom left photo sure looks CA to me! Gorgeous slag! -Brad
I LOVE MARBLES
Hey Roger, as you know three companies made hand-gathered red onyx marbles, Akro Agate, Peltier, and C.A.C. I think yours is Akro. Scott
slagmarble
I swiped Alan's image here...Its for a diaperfold, I have to figure a handgather could just be a nice bonus feature to a regular one seamer CA. The bottom 2 photos in the 4 panel view really show this feature off nicely. No argument from me about the difficulty with the reds, they can be tough to pin down especially when HG. -Brad
