  1. What's the difference in these two original packages. in all the books I have it pictures two trays on either side with a tray in the center containing a bag. The only problem is my tin is too small for that configuration. Did Akro use smaller sized mibs in this tin? My books shows 5 marbles in from each side and 6 mibs from top to bottom with the top and bottom row with slightly larger mibs. The tin I have only holds 5 5/8" mibs from top to bottom. Can someone help me out with this? How is the Akro 150 tin supposed to be packaged. I want to rebuild mine.

  2. okay I need some help here. There's a group of people shooting a documentary about marble playing/collecting and they are looking for footage or any kind of old marble material, whether it's film, newspapers, or memorabilia. If its old footage (preferably) they will be able to transfer it over to digital. Please let mw know if you have ANY and I mean ANY info on where to find some of this material.

    Thanks!!

  3. It's all about the Hunt, but if some says to me that, they've "already lost their marbles" again I think I hear that at least 8 times a weekend well I might just scream...pop.

I hate that line, I went yard sale hoping all weekend and that's all I heard. Sometimes I want to say it for them, before they have the chance to get it out.

  4. I don't think you missed anything. I just wouldn't be surprised if he didn't include the fact that the USA team won the 2000 Tournament at the Greyhound Pub in Tinsley Green. whether he adds it or not. It would make a great trivial discussion piece on who actually won when it's discussed years down the road.

everyone wants to kiss that marble because only the US Marble Champs can kiss that marble. In order to play in that tournament you either have to be a National Champ or over the Nationals age limit of 14 to play in the tournament.

  5. Tinsley Green

Here is the data simply copied from spreadsheet. Spacing is lost. I'll work on straightening it up. This is just to get me started.

check out this page http://www.usmarbles.org/memories.htm scroll down to the 2000 champions. Did Sam only want to list the European teams?

  6. I never knew the VFW had a National Marbles tournament. The only "National" Marbles Tournament is held in New Jersey. It began in 1922 and is the longest childhood sport still continued. I have a copy of all past National Champions with statistics from '22-00'ish somewhere: i'll have to track that down. Here's a photo of myself, the 1999 National Champion and Charles Mott the 1942 National Champion taken in WIldwood NJ 2010.
