It all started for me with a Pelt.
Aren't they great? There're so many incredible variations, and they just
seem to have a special look to them. And as I always say, "The Pelt-ier,
the better!" You know what I mean. Some are just more Pelty than others.
Here're some shots that will be reposts for some, but hope they'll be
good as a collection for this thread.
I'll stop talking now, and just say that included in no particular order are:
Baseballs
A nice Muddie
A couple big battle-scarred shooter Muddies
An incredible 7up
Some 'pseudo' 7ups with a cool bottle
A Pelt on a pickle (People are starting to wonder)
Three Pelts on an anvil (Any doubts about my sanity are now confirmed)
A group shot with a few repeats and some others in the front row
Your pictures are AMAZING! I hope they are in frames/displayed somewhere for people to enjoy...Nancy

Hi, I have a bunch of Peltier, but I've not been around long enough to know which are rare and I think they're all awesome. The first few I'm sure are Peltier (well, except for the red, white and green). And the next 2 pics are marbles I'm pretty sure are Peltier, maybe you can tell me if I've got any 'good' ones keeping in mind that I pretty much love indiscriminately. I hope I got enough of them right that it doesn't mess up your thread and thanks for looking...Nancy

Oh all right, Sue.....Here's my "prize winning" catseye from years ago. Whose contest was that?? And here's a one-incher that's solid aventurine. I'm fond of both of these. Actually, I look at my catseyes as much or even more than my more expensive marbles.
Whatever the names are for these marbles they are totally awesome!...Nancy

An early Christmas present. It is a brass owl with big ol' Vitro's for eyes. Nice colors too!! The 7/8" mibs look like same-run twins.
Merry Christmas!!
I LOVE this! I have some cool owls I've found over time, but none with marbles - awesome - thanks for posting...nancy

So now I think I'm seeing things.. I went back to look at the pictures of the marbles after reading your very good description. While looking at th last picture (in post # 2) the biggest picture I see what appear to be whole marbles under the glass. I've circled the most obvious marble like shapes. Is that even possible or am I hallucinating? I guess hallucinating for free could be cool, but does anyone else see what I'm talking about? I may need to step away from the computer...Nancy

Bob Block started calling any onionskin that the colors did not stretch from pontil to pontil EODs. They are not in any way whatsoever. I used to have a major antique paperweight collection and there were several End of Day weights in it. They were clear glass filled with small broken pieces of colored canes latticinio canes milliflores and lots of other small broken pieces of glass. In onionskins when the colors were blotches instead of full lines I guess it reminded folks of broken pieces so they started getting the EOD handle. It is actually not used much with marbles any more. (Thank goodness)
I understand the concept of onionskins as in 'Shrek' but I can not visualize what they mean in a marble even though I have looked at lots of of pictures very frustrating. End of day the same lots of pictures no good idea what constitutes either of these types...Nancy

Spectacular!!!!!!!
I WANT that marble! (I think I spelled that correctly LOL)That is breathtaking! Thanks for posting the picture...Nancy

I've asked for pontil photos of the eight End of Day marbles and he has stated that he is at max on eBay photos and also cannot remove a photo to add another but he is emailing me photo(s).
I also asked how many actually have dings and/or hits and he only gave me figures for the eight End of Days so I repeated the request for the lot. Will provide particulars when I receive them but I have no idea how to transfer an email picture to a Post here at Marble Connection. Anyone care to guide me through that? If you can do that figure I am computer stupid! David
You can usually regular (left) click on the photo in the e-mail hold it down and drag it to your desk top where you can upload as usual. If that method doesn't work then download the picture to your desk top (or somewhere you can find it) and upload as usual...the last, and my least favorite method is to right click the picture and save it to whatever photo or graphic editing program you use (Picasa is a pretty cool free download that handles photo editing from Google) and save it from there as a jpg to somewhere you can find it and upload as usual...Hope this helps....Nancy

I just got this one...probably a swirl. It has this strange gold circle on it. I got three the same day that have this gold marking on them but they are different styles. they were brought to me by someone who had purchased them at an antique store for what ever it's worth... I'll have to post them together on a new post later...Nancy

I know your question was about common popeye colors, but I love showing these unusual combinations.
The more pictures the better! Thanks for posting it really helps people like me visualize...Nancy

Rich repaired a bunch of my marbles, as well as making some remelts. Some of the remelts are certifiably bad@ss, and deserve posting.
The first marble here is a combination of two corkscrews. The started out identical, but were both well chipped when I got them. One was cleaved from top-to-bottom, one from side-to-side. They were remelted together along where they were damaged, and this is the result. Absolutely awesome!
The next one's a remelt of three slags; one red, one cyan, one lemonade. Awesome effect, and lights up beautifully. There are cracks visible in the picture, but they barely show up to the naked eye.
And this last one here is one he remelted, before and after shots. Now that the marble's in good condition, it's got a prime position in my best box. This slag is epic!
How awesome!! Nancy
