Returning home from running Granny's errand, Little Sweetie was mugged by the mauling mibster gang and thrown into the practice ring where she was sorely abused. Steelies and agates were only part of her rough treatment as one little brat grabbed her and repeatedly threw her against the back brick wall of Funtons hardware store. Her moans finally heard she was rushed for medical treatment and x-rays revealed it was just about hopeless. About that time Granny rushed in and hearing the Doctors prognosis pleaded "Oh Doc" do something please don't ship her off to the basket case ward they'll disfigure her completely up there. Those re- melters and sphere machine operators will have no mercy on her. Doc said I don't know Granny, poor thing had no bumps to begin with, they evidently were rolled off in the sandy dirt ring eons ago. Think I can keep her good and round so she can have a good smooth roll every now and then, but I know she'll loose the tip of her one bump and have a few chigger bites scattered here and there but because you're so fond of her I'll do what I can do. We will get Hansel to juice her up real good and we'll start surgery immediately. Well Doctor fixerupper worked his magic and the surgery was successful. Now Little Sweetie enjoys a life of leisure hanging out on Granny's kitchen window sill gazing out the window, just enjoying nature and the sweet smells of Granny's baking. And Little Sweetie doesn't have to worry about those mibster monsters anymore. Guess all's well that ends well. Ronnie wediscount2

If you want to know how large a jumbo onion skin gets, ask Hansel or Hipocritter. They are the true experts on matters such as this. Ronnie -

yepper, robert brown ceramic marble man, remember the day you and i and some of the heavy hitters were at haneys and the big hitters were buying the guineas at $300-$350 a pop and we didn't get any because our pockets were not that deep, well haney got those (a box full) from robert brown and brownie got them at a garage sale!!! Brownie always told me he got most of his marbles from the dump, well he did, and the dump was located at the rear of his prpperty, but being a preacher man and not wanting to outright lie, he would take marbles and place them in his dump and then mysteriously find them!!! go figure

Bought these marbles in 1987 from Brownie at the Springfield Ohio monthly antique and flea market show. Brownie would not tell me anything about them. How old are they?, I do not know. Two things I do know about the marbles. They were not recently made when I bought them, and none of them had a conventional pontil. Ronnie

Pinchers are an older neat little veneered marble. We called them pinchers because it looked like they needed their ends pinched closed. Mostly found as a 1 color striper marble, using a clear transparent base glass. Every now and then you could find one in multi colors, and if you got lucky you could find one that looked like a sparkler or sunburst. Rare in larger sizes 7/8ths and up. wediscount2

I know it's not their real name but many years ago we called them Banded Akro's, Later they were called Helmets and now they have a different name. One that's real hard to find uses a pink base glass and another tough one to get uses Brick as it's band and later on Ox-Blood as it's band. It was the Brick band that led us to believe they were an Akro Agate marble. wediscount2

Hansel, I'm sort of like Scott, if he wanted to make a Flame that no one could tell was not original he could do it and if I wanted to put an elevated pontil on a marble and no one could tell the difference I could do it, but not to worry I do not do that anymore and I don't think Scott does either. Scott and I are both artist's the very best of the best. I will show you the sulphide in Columbus this year and you decide how you feel about it. I had one person tell me it was a glue on job. Well you bring along some acetone, methelene chloride or a single edge razor blade and a pocket full of money to bet with and we'll just see if it's real glass or not!! and OBTW remember when you handed me that basket case of a rare marble that was missing about one sixth of it's glass and I took it downstairs and in about a half hour brought it back up to you and you couldn't tell the repair except it was more clear in that spot, well that's what you need to be concerned about, and OBTW I don't do that type of repair any more. Have a good one Hansel, Ronnie

Hi Scott, Yeah I got that memory problem as well, along with some other parts that quit working. Steph helped me yesterday and instructed me on how to get my avatar loaded. I only posted the sulphide to get my avatar some exposure as someday it will be as famous as the creator of the beetle bailey masterpiece is! Notice I said famous not infamous! LOL Later!!! Ronnie

I did that over 20 years ago and I still have the marble. Brian E. tried everyway in the world to get it from me in the Spring at the Canton Oh show but I told him that someday my granddaughter would be the proud owner of it. I worked in a R&D firm and we had our own optics dept. and with the equipt. we had it wasn't that hard to do. OBTW this photo was taken with a poloroid model 640 digital camera and the resolution was only 750KB Thanks for the nice comment. Ronnie

Scott, whats up? Haven't talked to you in awhile. Been real busy here at home, got lot,s of honey dooooo's to do. Have you been working, last time you told me you were making items for La***Fl*** hope that worked out for you. Maybe it's just me but it seems that people try to avoid contact with you. Maybe you have ticked them somehow. Sue went down to Turtle and Traders last weekend, said they were thick outside at both markets. She didn't find anything, bought some flowers and thats about it. Well I'll catch you later, Ronnie
