  1. There truly is no end to learning about marbles. Isn't it fun?! Thanks!
  2. Hey Dave, Thanks for the reply. "The green chunks of av make me think jabo." Confirmed my suspicion. From my years studying and loving marbles, I think Alley is the company that used aventurine on a fairly consistent basis. JABO seems to have used it in abundance. An email is definitely on the way to the buyer. James
  3. is there aventurine anywhere in the Ravenswood line? Did JABO or other company make a marble this close to this? I just want to make sure before mailing it in case I need to offer a refund to the buyer. Thanks! auction link
  4. So Christensen American Agates can't have a pinch on one pole? I've been looking at my red / white swirls and some of them have a Yasuda looking pinch. I think I have more sorting to do. Thanks for starting this thread.
  5. My ebay policy is that I will buy the marble back if the buyer isn't satisfied. I am never reaching for the goal of "scam seller". 😇 Remember the "Peltier Green Fizz" that got a lot of attention? I had listed it, but then some members of AAM said nope, not a Green Fizz. I pulled the auction, bought a really nice black light and it lit up! I'm so thankful that there are so many knowledgeable marble lovers here! I just can't bring myself to sell any marble that is given a higher grade than the truth, not mentioning 'as made' flaws, incorrectly measured, etc... Especially if a mib was sold to someone on this forum! All of you are the best! I've been corrected in this forum many times and there is no better feeling than representing the true character of a marble. For me, if I knowingly misrepresent a marble, I know that it would bug me throughout the auction and I would be on pins and needles after mailing it. I simply like to be comfortable with myself. The less self-stressed, enjoys the longer the life. I'm a little emotional right now because I'm about to start divorce proceedings. For me to say that I love you all gets me a little teary eyed right now. But, it's sincere and true. Thank you all for your kindness, patience and support. I truly look forward to my visits to this forum. Peace to all, James
  6. Thanks for the info on what to look for in a polished marble. Always learning!
  7. Nope. I wipe every marble down with a really nice piece of fibercloth. It seems to 'grab' onto the marble and cleans the marble nicely.
  8. In the sixth photo down there's a touch of pink in the little loop. I'm liking that!
  9. I understand your comment. I just liked the 'unrotten' name of Green Bee. I've been peering into the depths of this very nice Pelt today. Anyone else get lost in a marble?
  10. Yep. It boggles the mind to think of how much this particular marble was rolled around.
  11. Aren't the peewee Pelt NLRs generally of a transparent / translucent nature?
  12. Yeah... I think I was one of the stretchers. 😑
  13. Hmm... I don't believe so. It measures a full 3/4". Any way I can tell?
  14. It would make sense for it to be a JABO. The lot that I purchased had new and vintage. I can spot an oxblood JABO (amateur level) and my Dad (formerly gremlin*** on ebay) bought a fair number of them just for their amazing looks.
  15. A peewee Copperhead, I think. peltiermarbles.com/rare shows a Copperhead with nearly the same colors. She's a beauty!
  16. Turkey heads with reeeaaalllyy long necks!
  17. lol... it's not like you're giving me bad news. If I had known about JABOS like this I would bought a box!
  18. Hello friends, I listed just a few of the marbles from my Dad's (gremlin***) collection / hoarding. Here are a few:
  19. I've never seen green tracing oxblood before. Is this Akro, Alley, other? 5/8" mint.
  20. "Frankenstein stitches" 😅 Perfect description! I'll never misidentify another Yasuda! Please post some photos! I'd love to see them.
  21. I agree. I looked at joemarbles and the color definitely is not a match.
