  1. Both of these strands are trade beads from Ghana.
  2. The two powder blue strands in my pics (one with flecks) are trade beads from Ghana. The chevrons are all Chinese and not true Venetian. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to afford true Venetian chevrons.
  3. Thanks. I just love this one.
  4. Cool! I haven’t yet seen a clear yellow peltier like this before. I like it!
  5. i've seen pictures of the german beads that do look a lot like marbles. Interesting to learn they are actually marble cane! Now I want them even more. But they are spendy!
  6. Anyone else here into beads/African trade beads? Here are pics of some of my collection. I love trade beads, chevron, bone and shell, furnace glass, millefiori, vaseline, Czech glass and more!
  7. Thanks. I like patches too. I thought maybe there would be a cheat sheet somewhere online. I guess I’ll have to do it the old fashioned way by posting my terrible photography here. 🤣
  8. Anyone know why marbleheads don’t use millimeters? Seems the easier form of measurement. I collect trade beads and they are all measured in millimeters by collectors.
  9. Dang. I was going to go to harbor freight but went to ace instead. Seriously thought they were all the same. I’ll stop by harbor freight hopefully this week yet.
  10. I have no idea what to even look for them. I thought they were all the same. Lol
  11. Look what I got. Now I need to learn how to read it. 😵‍💫
  12. You would be surprised as to how many perennial actually survive our climate (I'm on the SE MN/SW WI border). I am in zone 4 and have tested several perennials beyond the growing zones and even have some zone 5 that come back each year (knock on wood). Did you know there are several different varieties of cacti that survive our winters? I believe I have about 15 different varieties in my yard with yellow, pink, peach and red flowers.
  13. In my experience, succulents are the worst! I kill them one.....by.....one.
  14. Also, speaking of cats eyes, how do I get my hands on some of those four colored St. Mary cats eyes?
  15. I am filling up my second gallon freezer bag and it's getting out of hand. I'd like to start unloading some soon. I know the hybrid cats eyes are collectible. Any others?
  16. Gosh, I could post photos for days of just last year. So many photos. Summer is a busy time for me. Here are some random photos of my garden, chickens, flowers, yard, and my outdoor bunny that comes and eats cheerios from my hand. Her name is Cheerio. She disappears in the winter months, but she comes back every spring. In the mornings, she will be waiting at my backdoor for some honey nut cheerios.
  17. Wow. Looking at these pics from last year is making me so excited about spring already.
