Yeah, I'm wondering just how I'm gonna pull it off for all those reasons you stated. I'll probably end up throwing the whole thing out! But hey, it's worth a shot.

Just a smidge under 3/4". There is a bubble in the red part which looks like a little seed. Any ideas of maker or type?

There def is some funky stuff going on with as made defects in the glass. I was surfing the web and saw a pic of a very similar structure in a smaller Vacor. I really think that's what it is.

I have this in with my Conquerors, but I'm thinking it's maybe a weirdo patch? It's cool how the V is just floating there. 9/16ths.

Yeah, I think I'll give it a try. It's not that great of an investment. I'll post my success or failure. 

So this might be a totally crazy idea, but I was thinking about buying some clear resin and some spherical-shaped silicone molds in order to encase damaged/rough marbles that don't really have any monetary value, per se. The idea is that the marble gets a super shiny coating and might get a new life in the old display case. It obviously would negate any potential $ value, but would it work? Has anyone ever seen anyone do this? Am I completely off my rocker? 

I want to develop my "vibe" ability! One day.....

I bet Vacor is correct. There were plenty in the pot!

Nope - just one red ribbon. The pics show the start and follows thru to the end. I'm thinking it doesn't really cork as much as wind its way around the base. More like a snail trail.

This was in a mix of new and vintage, so not sure. It corks all around but it's messy. It also has an area above a red ribbon where the white is less dense. Its just strange to me. Help please!

Marble--On!!

In the past week or so, I've found 5 Akro peewees. And I don't have very many marbles so it's kind of a big deal. To me, at least!

I thought MM Comet, then seeing a bunch of Akro pics made me doubt myself. Glad I checked. And now I have another peewee to add to my collection. I love my babies!

I just bought this display off Amazon. I had to have something with a glass cover as I have cats, which make it impossible for me to just have open shelving. Plus dust. I bought a bunch of rubber washers to use as stands.

Great topic! Around 2006 I worked for a doctor who had 3 of the modern larger marbles in his office and he knew I really liked them. So he gave them to me. Then he brought me a coffee can full of old marbles from when he was a kid. He was nearly 80 at the time so they were truly vintage. I knew folks collected marbles and I thought about selling them on ebay immediately. But before I did, I thought I should learn a bit about them to be an informed seller. Well, I soon discovered there was sooooo much to learn, and the more I did, the more I began to appreciate these little works of art. There were 2 sparklers in that coffee can. And a bunch of other stuff I can't remember, but I traded everything for some colorful Akros and MKs that I preferred. It's the first hobby I've  had that I've truly loved and obsessed over. I had to sell everything during some rough financial years, but I'm starting to get back into it. I only want to sell or trade things I don't collect for those I do. I want to keep everything forever now. Some people think I'm a bit nuts for collecting marbles, but when I start talking about why I do, most walk away with a whole new outlook. Except one guy. Way back when I first started, I purchased a stellar Pelt Superman and paid a pretty penny for it. It was a beauty. He snatched it from my hand and bounced it on the cement ground and handed it back saying, "It's just a marble" and walked away. I learned a very big lesson that day and never let anyone touch anything until I lay down the handling laws. The Superman was fine, by the way. I didn't even say anything to that guy. I was literally speechless. I chalked it up to a very valuable experience.

Amen! When I first started collecting back in '06 or '07, I saw a pretty marble at an antique store. It wasn't killer, but I thought it had nice colors. The guy at the booth told me he'd give me a "special" cash price of $55. It was a Mega something or other that sold for like $5 for a bag full of them. He also told me that it was called a "Cub Scout" and it got that name because Girl Scouts sold cookies and Cub Scouts sold marbles. There was just so much misinformation contained in that one little conversation. And here's the kicker - I ALMOST BOUGHT THE MARBLE! Luckily I decided to do a little research and check with a few forums first. A few mins of research saved me tons of $$.
