True dat. However, I have called it; Face took your identity and sold it to the world, since it began.

Yeah I'm just not into it though my age bracket is sort of obsessed lol I grew up during the myspace days 😂😂😂 and that was enough crazy for a lifetime for me lol. All this new snap this Instagram that tik tok this makes my brain swirl... Not to mention the data theft, the agendas pushed, and keyboard heros make it super unfun...

I'll stick to this and old fashioned letters and in person lol 🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️

  2. 🤗 welcome what a beautiful collection that was passed to you. I'm looking forward to learning with you as I am new myself 😎🙃 there are tons of incredible and knowledgeable people here with many links that really help :) hope they helped you as much as they are helping me ATM.

Pretty simple detection when stupid thief, scammers in ebay copies previous auctions and list as their own.

Here's some cheap cat eyes for $3,200 AND there's 6 sets availed! You can buy all of these for only $19,200! Link:  Old 6 no Peltier Banana cats eye Marbles 0.625''(2), 0.45'', 0.475''(2) ,0 .6'' | eBay.

Ha, ha, ha! But wait, that's the tell, these scammers haven't a single clue.

Here's their other marbles Link: | eBay

Except all their stuff is just copy and paste, they don't know what is what.

    BEWARE!!

Guess I'm going to be rich 😂 based on my vintage "bananas"  but seriously JK and what the hay diddle diddle... 3k 😮😮😮

I am learning the bay of E is not for me.. I had a wish list (and Steph was right in one of the threads ) being new you sort of do rely on what you're seeing to help you identify especially because I use Google lense a lot to try to pull up posts and articles etc...

It's nice to get clarity on where to buy/find (which for me so far has been estate sales /auctions) but come on 100 posts so I can see what REAL goodies all you knowledgeable souls have up for sale hehe ...

It's like window shopping but on a screen 🤷🏻‍♀️

I tried to keep in touch with my daughter during her first deployment in Iraq through food and what ever else I could do to feel her presence.

This recipe has stuck with me, it is very good

    Iraqi Chicken and Chickpea Stew

    1⁄4 cup canola oil
    6 cloves garlic
    3 small onions, quartered
4 medium waxy-style potatoes, peeled and quartered
    2 bay leaves
    2TBS yellow curry powder
    1 TBS  ground turmeric
    1 TBS  kosher salt
4 skinless chicken legs (about 1 lb.)
4 skinless chicken thighs (about 1 lb.)
    1  19-oz. can chickpeas, drained
    1 lemon, quartered
    1 TBS  dried sumac (optional)

    Flat bread--Naan

    1. Heat oil in a 6-qt. pot over medium-high heat. Add garlic, onions, potatoes, bay leaves, spice mixture, turmeric, and salt. Cook, stirring and scraping bottom of pot occasionally, until onions and potatoes are golden, about 10 minutes. Add chicken and 3 1⁄2 cups chicken stock; stir to combine. Bring to a boil over high heat, reduce heat to medium, and simmer, uncovered, until chicken is tender and cooked through, 20–25 minutes.
    2. Add chickpeas; cook for 5 minutes more. Taste the stew and season with more salt, to taste. Line 4 bowls with torn pieces of the flat bread. Ladle stew over bread. Squeeze a wedge of lemon over each bowl and sprinkle with sumac.

    Recipes On!!

First and Foremost thank her for her sacrifices no matter how big or small for me. Second wow what an amazing recipe!!! I am so gonna try this! It very much so reminds of a few of my favorite Indian dishes

Thanks for sharing this beautiful recipe and why it's special to you 🥹

By commemorative, what specifically do you mean?  St Mary’s cats can be found in MK bags.  There have been a couple of jobbers who have made dated sets of unique MK cats too (modern)

I am not exactly sure it was labeled this way when I was looking online but I hadn't seen or heard this (of course being new I figured I would ask here) 😉🙃🙂

The marbles pictured appear to be the 2000 run where they "mimicked" the older St. Mary's crossthrus.  I don't recall any special bags (commemorative or otherwise) that they did at that time but they might have.  They have done special bags and bag headers for Wildwood and other events over the years.

Thank you!!! It was labeled as that when I was looking online (came in a box) so I wasn't sure if someone was pulling legs or that was real) I haven't seen anything that backed it up but I figured the best place to ask was here. Thank you for your help 😎

"We" usually say to keep the bags unopened as their value is usually greater that way.  "Common" bags (value under $10 each or so) could be opened but I would keep the bag, staples and marbles together as "provenance" or just a cool display method.  Now, another reason to open might be the condition of the bags.  For example, in your first photo, the value of the bags would only be the value of the marbles as the bags are so damaged, they are worthless. So, opening those would seem to be okay (I'd still keep everything together so you know what came from where).  The bags in the 2nd and third photos I would keep intact, especially the 2nd as it is unusual and has those cool logo marbles (even if made in the last 30 years or so).  Just my thoughts.

Great advice thank you so much for the thoughtful feedback :) and it helps make it make sense when looking/buying.

The second bag is Marvel Marbles hehe (I love marvel comics and movies) and I will definitely take your advice with the second and third...

Thank you again for taking the time to respond and explain your answer means a lot 💗

Agreed... I love savory dishes as well though a lot of mine are made up in my head lol..

I'm gonna try your Goulash for my kiddos tonight... 🫣 Hopefully they like it!!! Reminda me sort of like stuffed bell peppers but with pasta hehe and I think bow tie pasta would be fun visually for them hehe

I'm loving the recipe shares!!!! It's so fun! I'm making a "Marbled" lemon blueberry cornbread pan-Cake pie" ATM) topping it off with lemon cream cheese frosting and warmed bluebberries hehe

    TaDa

    Such a Fun Easy Recipe

    1 box of Corn Bread🌽🍞

🥞 3 cups of pancake mix (the just add water kind)

    🥚2 eggs

🥛1 cup of milk or almond milk (we use almond)

    🍥Brown sugar

And lemon zest to taste preference

Add approximately 💦3 cups of water but don't quote me I sort of eyeball it till the texture is super thick but not dry...

Fold in as much fresh blueberries as you like I use a little under 1 pt

Any sort of pan you like I typically use cast irons

🫐I took it off with more fresh blueberries lemon zest and sprinkled brown sugar

    350 for 30-40 minutes

Let it cool slice in half full with lemon cream cheese frosting

    &

🍋Top it off with Lemon Cream Cheese frosting /lemon zest

For the lemon cream cheese you can use prepackage and fold in the lemon juice until a silly smooth consistency or make homemade cream cheese frosting 🤤🫣

If you are on FB, go to the DAS, etc. page and then search "Double Decade" and you will see some posts with that run, including a very large group.  I think you might find some similar ones there.

unfortunately I don't do social media 😬 ... So that's a smidge of a bummer but thank you so much for replying and helping. I appreciate you 😊🙏

  13. Thank you Steph!!

    🫣If anyone loves Empanadas

Empanada Pie is it's Grandma hehe🤣🤣🤣

    Traditional Pie Crust/lattice Work

Filling is: Steamed Jasmine Rice as a bottom layer (or plain rice whatever you prefer)

On Top of the rice is Meat filling is: a Sofrito base Marinaded Meat

    traditional sofrito consists of:

    • head garlic, peeled/chopped

    • 2 medium onions, peeled/chopped

    • 1 red bell pepper, stemmed & seeded

    • 2 green bell peppers, stemmed & seeded

    • 2 large tomatoes (or I sometimes used canned steamed and peeled)

    • 1 bunch cilantro leaves

    • 1/2 bunch fresh parsley leaves

I blend them(or pulse) in any sort of blender

The key is to *Marinade the meat for at least 12-/24 hours then cook it in a sauce pan put it all together (with the pie crust/rice) & in between the layers I put cheese

So Pie crust cheese/rice/cheese/meat/pie crust lattice work(the cheese helps the layers stick together, it's easier for serving)

(You can egg wash it or leave it be)

Bake at 450 until the pie crust is cooked and I like to top it off with sprinkles cheese and cilantro  🤗

  14. 🧐When you score an unopened bag of Marbles do you:

    Keep them in the Bag?

Or Does the Excitement of Opening get you?

🫣I have acquired some unopened bags and I have no idea, is it better as a new collector to keep them in the bag? Open them? Or hold them aside for trading in the future:)

Just curious what everyone else does 🙃

It is not too common--believe me there.

"Eh" is a thing for sure--we just do not use the "eh" thing here--"eh"may be very exciting to a new collector, why burst any bubbles?

We were all in the "eh" stage of collecting at one point or another.

We all try to encourage the marble collecting madness no matter what is posted or displayed.

I by the way, collect them all--"eh" or top notch--I just love this stuff!!!

"Common" is getting less and less a thing with "Vintage Machine Made Marbles". Get them when you can.

    Marble--On!!---"eh"--on as well!!!

    Totally respect that!!!

And completely understandable, I am often reluctant share because mine feel so "ordinary" compared to what I see" but your comment actually makes me feel/iterates what I feel like when I see my marbles... I literally spend hours looking at them 🤣 .. because it's just so fascinating to me and I feel like everytime I look at them I see something different... Thank you for this comment and I'll keep my verbage exciting hehe .  I hope I didn't come off as icky, and if I did I completely apologize.

    Again I appreciate the comment/feedback 😃

Thank you  for the insight 😊 & I thought so too but I have no idea how to value visualization as nice vs common or just eh..if eh is even a thing 😂😎🤗
