I’m brand new to marble collecting. Seems like a fascinating hobby. Here’s my story about how I just got started with buying my first collection. Browsing Craigslist I saw this marble collection. Turns out the man was 71 yrs old. And not a collector. He said the marbles belonged to his father. And he said his father never allowed him to play with them as a child. He kept them all in a large metal tin. They are mostly in excellent condition. Some are very minty specimens. About 800 in total. So far I’ve identified some nice ones. Lutzes, Christensen agates, Peltiers Akros, etc. And many seemingly identical pairs of 2,3,4 from the same cane. I think I did okay. Time will tell. Thanks for looking.
