  1. Those are beautiful. As a Cub Scout den leader, I need to try to get my hangs on some. Thanks for sharing.
  2. We had our own office celebration yesterday for World Marbles Day. It wasn’t as big as the one at Tinsley Green, Sussex, England. But we had fun all the same.
  3. I like diners and the typical “truckers special.” Eggs, sausage, home fries, toast, pancakes. Sometimes you get bacon too. What can I say, I’m old school. Obviously, you can’t eat it to often, but it can be a nice splurge.

  5. Timmy Walden from Monroe county makes nice marbles.
  6. Welcome. I am afraid I am one of the few people on the site who’s into playing marbles as opposed to collecting. So I won’t be much help to you. But I wanted to say welcome nonetheless. So welcome!
  7. They’re made for playing arrowhead. They’re very cool. Check out this video: You can order them from the gentleman who makes the arrowhead marbles sets. But I suspect it’s not cheap.
  8. That’s awesome. What a great idea. Yes I have some instructions for Tennessee square from Darren Shell’s book, A Stones Throw. I will try to reminder to post them up here later this week or weekend.
  9. I should have known by the name, but krapinternational advertised “125 carnelian agate natural stone marbles” on eBay. I bought them, but when they arrived they were just glass. I should have know, as they were cheap. And even looking at the picture I wasn’t convinced they were stone. I didn’t complain as they are nice marbles, but still, the false advertising burned my scrod a little.
  10. Enjoying a game of old bowler, Abraham Lincoln’s favorite game.
  11. I love rolley hole. We play quite a bit. I also very much enjoy your posts. They are some of my favorites on the site. So please keep them coming. Tennessee square was my favorite game for awhile, but I think rolley hole has caught up with it recently. I had a set of Tennessee square flint marbles made for me down in Kentucky 2 Christmases ago. They’re beautiful and we use them all the time. Thanks for posting the rules on Georgia rolley hole. I read them and am going to start adding that to our rotation. If you get a chance to post the rules at some point, I would love to learn how to play schoolyard. I haven’t heard of that one before. Thanks for adding onto the post.
  12. Did anyone else play Milkie? In milkie, you put a mib in the center of a square. Each person places there shooter outside one of the corners of the square. The object is to use your shooter to put milkie in someone else’s corner. If you do, they’re out of the game.
  13. This was a beautiful post. I just joined the webpage and am seeing it for the first time. What a touching tribute. Thank you for posting it.
