Sometimes these off-road excursions are interesting in themselves, but they should have started off as their own topic. It's not that I'm whatsit-retentive, but straying off the original topic frequently confuses things, and does a disservice to the poster's original intent. People (including me) need to take their 'only indirectly-related' questions and comments and make them the 'topic title' of a new post.
