fentonacres
I spent part of this week taking single pics of my grandfather / great-grandfather's Native American artificat collection. They are likely all from the West Virginia / Ohio area and are "found" (vs. purchased) items. When I got these they were in a dilapidated cigar box. Now I have them in display boxes and learning about periods, etc. There are pieces from the paleo, archaic and woodland eras. The handle looking thing is called a Bird Stone and, if authentic, is very rare and somewhat valuable. But, as with my marbles, what on earth will I do with these? No one in our family would want them, or would appreciate them. So for now I can touch them, think and dream about who made them, etc. and one day I will need to find an organization or museum who will want them. http://www.carolinefentonphotography.com/Albums/THE-WILLIAMS-COLLECTION-West/
Steph
Wow. I remember as a kid wanting to find arrowheads, but that's as far as that dream went. That first piece -- the Bird Stone? -- is astounding.
