Steph
Could be Akro with those colors. You might have gotten hold of some dug marbles.
DINDO
Thanks. How could 1 tell if they are dug marbles? Also does that effect value? I dont sell marbles but for purchases would be good to know .
Steph
I don't know how to answer that. Probably a lot of dug ones you wouldn't be able to tell. But those colors are like a "spotted leopard" ... but without the spots. The spotted leopard is a fairly well known dug marble. http://marbleconnection.com/topic/9425-dug-leopard/ Here's an earlier dug marble example Lizzy posted with somewhat similar coloring, which was ID-ed as a spotted leopard. Steph
As to value, I'd think as a general rule knowing it's dug could lower monetary value. But I think the lines are probably blurred. If a marble is only known from the digs, and if not that many of them are known, then different rules would apply.
DINDO
Thanks Steph. That is a great assessment. I am happy to have some dug marbles,it adds another dimension to my collection. The people that get to do it are lucky. It looks like fun. I've added that to my marble bucket list to maybe do one day.
