marblenewbie
Saw four marbles just like the one here for sale at Rick's Marbles on eBay. Had this one in my unidentified WVS. They appear a little lighter blue than my photo but the color on my marble is actually a little lighter than the photo. 5/8".

marblenewbie
Would like to bump this one up to see if I can get any one agrees on Heaton or a WVS that can't be determined.
wvrons
It is a possible Heaton. But I cannot be sure with these pics. I have no idea what shade of blue you have ? Something may be brighter blue and some may be lighter blue. Your marble is lighter than the photo. Colors are very critical with WV swirls. Different cameras and settings, phones, lighting and screens can change the actual true color. For a accurate WV swirl identification many times it comes down to a certain shade of one color. For that accurate id the colors of the picture have to be accurate. If the colors of marbles posted here are different than in hand. Then that leaves room for a wrong id. marblenewbie
Thanks Ron. It is sure easy to see how misidentifications happen. I am comparing my mib with a photo of a marble in a book and then photographing it and putting it in the room with a camera that I have little control over. Hard to get 100% accuracy that way unless it is obvious. I guess we do the best we can with the equipment we have or the proficiency possess. wvrons
That is the best we can all do. We give the best identifications that we can with what is presented. They will never all be 100% correct by any human, doing any amount of numbers over time.
chicagocyclist
That's a great review of the marble identification process. I'm very happy to have my marbles identified by people who have that amount of knowledge and can even close identifying a single glass object from the millions and millions that were produced over decades!!!❗
