I don't think it makes much difference on the smaller mibs, and I think I prefer the "speckled" look anyway. And the shooters from the purple sack were photographed on a gray background (per a suggestion Steph made). I guess to each their own when it comes to leaving the dust on or not. When I give my smaller Pirates a clean, they look really nice, almost satin black.
