This came from my ex- father-in-law, who I deeply loved. Much more than his psycho daughter. ( My first ex)

he was a professor of geology, hired by my grandfather in 1948. My favorite saying of his was the 5 stages of a fart:

A fizz

A fuzz

A fizzy-fuzz

A fart

And a tear-ass rattler.

He was unique. Taught himself to play the piano and accordion while in a TB sanatorium. Also learned Russian, translating many Russian geology books into English.

he played the piano at concert level but refused to play if anyone was listening. I had to hide outside to hear him play.
