boris64
I know this is off topic but I know there is people here with tons of knowledge. I bought a bunch of gems from a estate sale from a out of business jeweler. They look real! Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! Ric
I am no gemologist but I think it's going to be hard to ID the first one from photos since a variety of different stones look very similar to this. My guess for the second would be white opal.

As to value, it depends on how much flash it has, balance, colors etc. It's probably from the Cooper Pedy mine, as it says. I am no gemologist either but have some raw and polished from Lighting Ridge. I have many more! Black opals are valuable? Yikes! That might be a pretty decent treasure. IDK, maybe packets of jade and a bunch of different stones, I couldn't begin to try to ID all that. You best find a local to you custom Jewelry maker/designer who might have the time to sort it. And yeah, Australian black opal can be worth some bucks. It do take an expert to sort that too as it can be found in North and South America too. There's some guys in UTube, miners and Polishers that host interesting podcasts. et cetera
Interesting find for sure! Hard to see much detail, but that black opal could be a real winner. I would want a certified gemologist to take a look at everything for certification and valuation. The light green square 'cushion cut' example is not a Peridot (wrong shade of green) but looking at the weak color saturation and minimal faceting I would guess possibly Hiddenite (very soft - difficult to facet). Just speculation but the watery green shade looks right. Could also be Fluorite but the clarity seems high for that.
