joeager
I just picked up a jar of marbles today. It was full of cateyes and bumblebees. I found this cateye in the group. What the heck is it and have you ever seen one like this before?
MrsMopar
Wow! That's a nifty cat's eye Joe. Looks like it has eye lashes. The first pic made me think of a flying green dragon with black smoke lines around it. I dunno what kind it is but it's certainly kewl looking. :-) Felicia
Pinx
I've seen lots of foreign cat's eyes with that "squid ink" effect. I think I heard an explanation once, but can't recall it now. Also, there are some Marble Kings that have a "shadow" patch and ribbon style superimposed over the cat's eye. I've only seen the ribbons in a very light black. However, yours doesn't look like the MK (which would be much rarer), so I'd go with foreign. Elizabeth

Squid Ink! LOL Good one! I've wondered about this before. But couldn't ever get a picture which showed it right to ask the question. (Nice camera work, Joe.) Pinx
Wish I could take credit for Squid Ink, but I think it was Roningeorgia who coined that term. Elizabeth
joeager
Thanks for the information. I really like the term Squid Ink. I never paid attention to Cat Eyes until I saw a buddy of mine paid good money for St. Marys. I about fell out. I know have thousands of Cat Eyes I have to go through to make sure I don't have any collectible ones in there waiting for the boy next door to use in his sling shot.
