  1. Joseph is heating the marble to put it in the marble block in his left hand to round up the marble.
  2. ON Spring Break Joseph and I visited marble makers and Joseph was treated to the watching of making beads, marbles and pendants. Rich Hollingshead helped Joseph make a marble, Andrew Brown helped Joseph make two beads, and Bryan Kitson made a pendant while we watched. Rashan Omari Jones also made a marble for Joseph. One of our first day visits was to David Chamberlain's home and Joseph was given the box of marbles below. Joseph treasures those marbles. David also gave Joseph a hand full of Ravenswood marbles, and a stack of comic books. Back in September of 2010, David wrote an article for the Texas Marble Collectors Inc. Newsletter about the "Marble Brewery" in Albuquerque. He commissioned David Salazar to make marbles with base glass the color of the brew and hops in the marble. Chamberlain gave me a "Hops Marble". I think David has all the rest of those marbles. Only 7 0r 8 of them made. Here is the one David gave me:
  3. I AM A SEASONED COLLECTOR. And I like them. I've seen them here and I've seen them at shows. They are pretty marbles - not expensive, is that what people dislike and why you detractors think only "unseasoned" collectors will comment? I'm not a marble snob, is that why I like them and think he has the right to post them here and ask for comments? Please don't attack me or Rich for what I've said. We listen and read your comments politely. Listen and read ours the same way.
  4. No problems. Internet Explorer 8, Windows 7
  5. The problems just stopped for me. First time today that i could get on this board.
  6. He's probably trying to pass them off as older marbles and probably will be able to with buyers who don't know any better.
  7. Nice piece! You haven't been around in a while. I've come back to add a few thoughts. My crown jewel is subjective. Mine is probably different from everyone elses. It would be something I value and not necessarily valued by anybody else.I might like the colors or the pattern or the size. Sometimes I think the crown jewel might be "created" by some collector or dealer who just happens to own a bunch of them. Maybe they want to sell for a profit. Just a thought. Other than what I added, I think you are "spot on".
  8. I can't find the tiny box Bo made for Weldon. Still looking.
  9. I forgot you have to click on Glass Talk first after you go that link. Then do what I said above.
  10. You might be interested in seeing some of Bo's work at this link. http://glasswizzards.yuku.com/ When you go there, click on a post called "A Marble A Week Contest" Edna Eaton on page 6. Bo's marbles are on my page 6
  11. I know an E. Shelton Wilder who is an art teacher in New York and a collector of contemporary marbles. I don't know a Phil Wilder. Edna
  12. The memorial service was nice. There was a picture of Bo, Weldon, and me in the background behind Weldon. When I left, no other marble people had come. I have some pics of Bo, but they are on disks, not in my computer. I'm going to search through disks and find pics of him for his family.
  13. I thought it was his step Mom Jessie. I mentioned it to Norma, but I also thought he told me the state of Arkansas. If I remember right about Arkansas, he was mailing them to Tessie. Norma is going to check that out. It was one of the other. Next week I'm going to post things I have that Bo made - marbles, pendants, key chain fobs and a flower pot he gave me.
  14. No more moisture expected, the ice is thawed. Looks like I'll be able to travel in the morning. I'm stopping in Corsicana on some marble business and then going on the Lake Dallas. Edna
