playing possum?

My dad got rid of his childhood marble bag not very many years ago. He didn't realize I would want it even though it was falling apart. My grandmother made it for him from black and white checked cloth.

I didn't really play marbles but I did have a marble bag. My grandfather got it for me at a Navajo store on a family trip out west when I was about 7 ... if I recall correctly.

A 1938 letter mentioned a "root beer cleary" and a "3 line cleary". I don't know if I got a copy of the letter. (I may only have saved the autograph on the letter -- the autograph was from Berry Pink.) But these two marbles were being sold with it. There was question about whether the marbles actually came with the letter. But they fit the descriptions.

Those are old pix from back when I knew how to use Photoshop to darken the background and make the glow pop in the picture like it does to the eye.

I opened a recent version of Photoshop and couldn't figure out how to do the simplest things.
