I guess the machine heated the rods up up somehow and then cut them.

I think it was a German patent so it wouldn't necessarily apply to guineas. Just mentioning it because it's not such an odd idea to mix canes and machines.

Well, here is a comparison with a marble Sue posted once. Not a scenic obviously. But a good way to contrast the craftsmanship in the pinwheel design.

Bob, please don't speak to Sue that way. Even if you don't appreciate her knowledge, which is considerable, you're on very thin ice talking to her that way.

To me, the one I posted looks cleaner than yours. Cleaner and more neatly executed. But still related.

Why would you post a marble and say that you " think " this may be a fake ? It looks fake but are you sure of this ? I would agree ..

I am confident that it is a fake but I tend to be guarded in my expression, just in case I turn out to be wrong, even though I don't believe that will happen in this case.

I don't think there's anything wrong with showing the pictures. They're from ebay. They're educational. I know that Sue had reservations about showing the real ones because she didn't want the fakers to know how to improve their product. But if someone else had some undisputed ones to post, I wouldn't ask them to be removed.

The black on those ends looks like what we see on a magic marker marble. Do you think the black was even painted or would you guess it actually was from a pen?
