Happy B-Day, Jack!!!!! Both of my best friends have birthdays today... One just happens to be my husband.... It's a GOOD Day!!! If the calendar says Raynsandy is today... maybe I thought I was a day late, but really turned out to be OK.... That would be Ray Laub.... I sold a military medal that.... Based on where I got it, vs. how it looked, I was 99.9% positive it was "all good." But, that .1% really nags atcha.... Then, someone emails and says, "That's a fake".... Which happened to me... Is it a con?? I dunno.... But, it shook me up a little... So, I let it go, until it was sold, then basically told the buyer the whole story and gave him the same refund deal... For ANY reason (Though, I think I said I'd pay shipping... Heck, it's a medal, not caste iron!!) It all turned out OK... This seems like the same sort of situation... I hope he's as lucky as I was....

I think it's pretty cool that we can slide from "REAL" flames to marbles that look very similar... If we had to stay "STRICTLY BY THE BOOK" Ann & Ruth (and a bunch of others...) wouldn't have had the opportunity to learn about these... Let's try to loosen up and ENJOY this hobby.... Miser, if that's humble, I'll have to GROVEL!!! LOL I don't think I have a really nice flame.... Those Germans are HOT!!!! Ruth, Dani's are Gutta Percha... They were previously called papermache, for lack of a better name. But, I think we're much closer with Gutta Percha... They are very rare and kinda, sorta feel like plastic, or sealing wax. Very lightweight and there's a few different types. I've never seen ones with that kind of pattern. The ones I've seen (I was lucky enough to run across 5, together, many, many years ago...) look more like this.....

Yeah..... I haven't scoured the ebay rules lately... It just pisses me off!!! LOL But, the last I knew... The use of links in an auction had a ruling something to the effect of.... Any link in an auction had to be directly related to the auction itself... You may have a link to an unrelated site in your "Me" page.... However, I think that only applied to links that were not.... in any way... for profit... This may have changed... And, as far as I know, it's only a problem if you get reported (They still seems to depend on that)

I had a great weekend at the NE show and came home with one of the marbles I MOST wanted from the Glass Addiction Alphabet Letter contest!!! (Stan Skipper's Q..... Thank You, Bert & Rosalie!!! ) And, the coolest surprise was having my son walk in to say "Hi" after a 10 hour bus trip to do it!!! (Oh... Did I mention, you have violated board rules by using my full name in the title??? Your gettin' a WARNING, Honey!!!!)

Hey Craig, it would be a no-brainer to imagine that exposure is the issue here... This is just the sort of "spurt" exposure that the site needs on a regular basis, in order to make it worth running, at least until it becomes a habit for buyers to look... Sellers... Give Craig a break from constant promotion (Which is a lot more grueling than it sounds) and promote auctions, through links EVERY SINGLE TIME YOU LIST!!! I'm confident that Lou would support me in saying, your links are welcome here. Promoting this sort of thing is one of the most productive purposes these boards can have... Mike!! (mmuehlba) You have a contemporary marble with an incorrect maker's name... It's by Mike Petura, not Pentra... I don't want to be morbid here, but we all know that when a maker stops making marbles, folks who don't have them suddenly realize that the supply may be tougher to get and snap them up. This may be one of those cases.... I don't know what's up with Mike (Does anyone??? Carl?? Marie??) I've contacted some folks who know Mike and they haven't heard from him.... I'm very worried. I've known Mike a long time and I care a lot about him... The last I heard, he had complications from his (cancer) illness. I can't seem to get an update.... Mike!!
