Jabo Spring Fling/Scallywag Runs
Nantucketdink replied to Melissa's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
April Fling was the name of the run. Many many people misattribute the April Fling Run to the Scalawag Run because they were sold misattributed on ebay for years that way by one seller and then people repeated the mistake. They were totally seperate runs. JABO made patches on many occasions across the years although many are unaware of this. Almost all of the April Fling marbles were patches and only a few of the Scalawag Run were patches. Its just like familiarizing oneself with any run of marbles...different color combinations in the two different runs. Let me find some of my original pics to post here of the 2 runs. Yours are all April Fling. -
Those are not Whisplers. They aren’t euro sparklers either(at least not any that I am familiar with and I have several hundred). My best guess would be Master.
-
The second one is likely Champion
-
But I don’t. I am not confident enough to accurately attribute a single one. I could guess on all but don’t usually answer unless I have some confidence.
-
I imagine it is the fact there is so much white in this one and the majority of tan color is over the white that is throwing the others off, but I could just simply be wrong too.
-
I am sticking with my gut instinct. Cheese-isnt this one with a lot of white?
-
it looks like one to me. Now I am going to have to go check as all of you are saying it isnt. The colors look spot on..arent they?
-
it does not look like a newer marble that I recognize
-
Pretty sure that’s a JABO Classic
-
It could be. I am rarely confident attributing simple transparent swirls. Size and busy pattern in favor of RW, but it’s still possible several other companies could have made it.
-
Jabo is my guess but I want to check with you all

It’s a 2006. -
Here are some of my green and white in clear dug ones from one lot, but just not familiar with just green in clear. I am pretty clueless on Akros though
-
I don’t recognize this one as JABO
-
I have plenty of dug ones with green and white in clear, but none with just green. Maybe the just green in clear were seperated out before my groups made it to me, or I am remembering wrong. Can we see a couple pics of some of the just green in clear dug ones for verification please

Interesting Swirl/Wirepull?
Nantucketdink replied to marblemanvintagemarbles's topic in Marble I.D.'s
Mine is a JABO foxfire tankwash. Looks like it could be a match. These ones came out in the 1/2 to 5/8 range -
Would love to see some pics of champ bicentennial bags with big swirls in them of any color. Haven’t come across any that I can remember. Some of the smaller champ made swirls in those bags include blue and orange on white and maybe that’s what you meant?
-
I don’t have any Chamions like that one.
-
Was it found in a lot of dug Heatons or just randomly in the wild?
-
JABO tankwash. I believe this one is Encore tankwash

I have seen at least two totally seperate jobbers on different ends of the earth who packaged Veiligglas marbles in similar nets. The New York ones came with a header stating made in Germany (and where a lot of misinformation came from), and then there are the ones in Greece that originally had a little piece of unique patterned tape above the knots. I have pics on my computer and can check later. Big ones likely NY jobber
-
It’s a Whispler instead of a sparkler
-
That’s an old one too with playwear no less. That fantasy bag maker was having some serious fun when he put that one together. Putting used marbles in a bag pretending to be new. It’s actually the first time I have heard of that. I might have kept that one sealed.

Oh yeah… I believe that’s a 2005 JABO.
