Nestles Bag- Cat In Pink Glass And An Oxblood Cat
Ima_ddicted replied to Ima_ddicted's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
She's "Yo-Yo". She loves to jump on, and ride, hanging bungee cords. She's boing boing boinging all day long. -
Sorry about my pics. It's so hard to get good shots through plastic. They're Gladding-Vitro bags. The larger bag has patch type marbles with very beautiful earthy colors. They remind me of the older Vitro Parrots as the colored patches cover the marble more. The smaller bag has a more traditional colored patch marble like bright red etc. I'd have to yank the bags out from under the pile again to get more pics and I'm just feeling way too lazy right now LOL

Hi Felicia! That's a brownish blackish color in 2nd picture and a beautiful aqua color in 3rd. They're really pretty mibs and larger than the usual 5/8".

I have gotten quite a few e-mails and PM's about these boxes so here's the info that I have on them. Took me all morning to dig through stuff to find it. No wonder my kids are threatening to call "Hoarders: Buried Alive" on me. These 1950's boxes came from the estate of Mr. Robert Lippert from Bexly, Ohio. He was a direct account representative for the Nestle's Company. They had been stored for years in his garage and finally sold at his estate auction in 2000. This is the info I have from my paperwork and from the antique dealer who attended the auction and then sold the boxes and marbles to me. In 2001 I drove to the antique shop near Westerville, Ohio to pick the boxes up. (Some good memories some bad memories from that long trip! LOL ) There's a little more info about Mr. Lippert but it's his personal family info and really has no significance to the marbles IMO That's my story and i'm stickin' to it

Found the answer I think. I found an old print out of a Guernsey comic box that kstump was showing on his website back in 2000. My print out is dated Feb. 15, 2001. It's a cool gold box with 12 picture marbles - Jiggs, Maggie, a clown, swans, duck, a cavalier, Santa Claus, Pinkie, a Currier & Ives blue scenic, a monkey, a Russian dude, and a really cool "Cambridge Glass - Est. 1901" script marble. I remember a Kevin Stump from the old forums. Same guy? Anyways, he valued the marbles and box at $30.00

Now These Are The True Original Boxed Marbles
Ima_ddicted replied to Ima_ddicted's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Yeah my pics suck. Pink base glass. White vanes. I'm not about to open the bags that have pink cats. It would give me heart failure. LOL Anyways, those loose marbles are some others in pink glass. Wanna see some in red glass or cobalt? Or perhaps yellow glass? -

David- see my other post showing a bag with a pink glass cat in it. BTW: Each box states 23 lbs. - 16 marbles per bag. I dunno maybe 144 bags per box? 244? I'm lousy at math. Yes- bags have 1,2, or more cross-thrus. Don't want to mess around with them again. LOL Gave Duffy a bag at the New Philly show years ago and I sent one to Pinx. I think I gave one to Al too. All had cross-throughs. -
Bump - I'd be interested in knowing.

not brass but surely glass - LOL My bag friend Al told me a long time ago that I shouldn't open the box until I was at a show or somewhere where there could be witnesses. For provenence maybe? -
yeah Steph - I have 2 boxes but the other one is all stained up. Must have gotten wet at one time. The one shown is in super duper condition.

The itty bitty box is 1" long and under 1/2" wide. It holds 2 peewee white cross-thrus which are 15/32". The box states Made in Japan.

LOL @ Pene-lope ! If there any cookies they'd have to be antique as I hate to bake and haven't in a long long time Thanks all for the replies. I have lots of wonderful catseyes in every color of the rainbow. I especially like the rare ones that have aventurine in the red, and blue, and black, and yellow, etc.

Box Catseyes In A Moonie Type Glass
Ima_ddicted replied to Ima_ddicted's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
Hi Al- it's great to see you again. No- there is no name on the box. It was an Ebay buy years ago when I was into marbles in orig. packaging. The seller listed them as orig. to the box but you can't always believe what you hear or read right? BTW- I haven't bid against you in a long Ebay time huh? Are my bags of shooters Cosmic Rainbows still a hot item? -
This wirepull set came from England back in the days when Ebay had some good buys in marbles and postage was reasonable. Sorry but I didn't get pic of the orig. box before I packed it away again. A few other wirepulls, etc. too.

The Marble That Started It All-
Ima_ddicted replied to Ima_ddicted's topic in General Marble & Glass Chat
too long Mrs Mo. Forever I guess. My girlfriends used to spend their money at my bar and I would spend that (their) money on marbles hahahaha. They'd buy jewelry and new clothes and I'd buy marbles. They'd go to the casinos and I'd buy marbles. About 30-35 years I reckon.
