  1. I thought this might be an Akro, but it is more complicated than that. To start, the frosted finish is unlike any Akros I have. Then when I looked at it closely, I think there are 2 separate corkscrews, each starting at an opposite pole and spiraling in opposite directions. The last picture shows where the top cork trails into the lower one. It also shows where the lower cork tail ends as a thin line barely separated from the main mass of the lower cork (at about 4pm in the pic). This makes me think it's hand made. There is a possible pinched or crease pontil at one pole as seen in pic 5. So I'm thinking it may be a Yasuda?
  2. What makes a "Jelly Core"? I've never heard that term used.
  3. Thanks folks! I had it with my Ravenswood, but I didn't want to wager that as a guess in my post. I always seem to think that only to find out they are Alley. Glad I had this one correct!
  4. Thanks for clarifying. So do folks think these 4 are from MFC?
  5. I don't think CAC made Ox Bricks- but I'm not expert and am still learning myself. If anyone can clarify that amongst vintage machine mades only Akro and MFC made bricks, that would be helpful. (JABO has made some bricks too, but they are VVHTF.)
  6. They are very similar, but not identical. The larger one is 2/3 (.66) inch and the smaller one is %/8 (.62) inch.
  7. Any ideas on this one? It's 39/64 (.61) inches.
  8. I don't know about the presence of white glass question. I'd be interested to learn more too. I just posted the other 4 bricks I have for comparison. I think at least 3 of those are MFC. Thanks to all for your help and comments!
  9. Here are 4 more Ox Bricks. I can clearly see what I think are 9 and tails in the first 3, but I'm not as sure about the 4th one (in the lower right corner). The top 2 are 3/4", then 41/64", and the last one is 5/8". I'm wondering if the last one is Akro. The ox looks to be a slightly different shade than the other 3 and I don't see a 9 and tail. Any thoughts are welcome- Thanks!
  10. Thanks for your help too, VA! I always appreciate all who spend the time to help out with ID. You have some stunning furnace marbles!
  11. Yes, those look just like mine. Thanks Nantucket! (You have a nice sampling there!)
  12. Just for clarification- St. Mary's or Sistersville?
  13. Good advice Fire. Getting to see more examples definitely helps to train the eye. You'll love THE BOOK- I splurged and got it. Lots of super high quality swirls. Much better looking than most of my examples!
  14. Thanks VA! Those are some super nice marbles. Here are a couple more of my OP- I don't know that they will help much. It is not transparent. When backlit is glows orangish red. Thanks to all!
  15. Thanks Cheese! I guess I'm still learning my Alley patterns.
  16. I don't see any signs like a nine and tail that would make it MFC. It's a beauty! One of my favorites. It's 41/64 (.64) inches.
  17. Or maybe a Champion 'Tangerine Slag'? It's 37/64 (.58) inches.
  18. They don't feel like Alley, but I could be wrong. The green one is 41/64 (.64) inches and might have some more distinguishing ID patterns in the last 3 pics. The blue one is 23/32 (.72) inches so that might make it too big to be either a RW or Heaton? It is a bit OOR, but I don't think it is a double ingot. Thanks!
  19. Pics 1 & 2 look so good... 3 & 4 show it to be a bit on the squished side. It's .69 x.51 inches. The white glass has strong UV.
  20. One is a smidge larger than 5/8 (.62) inches and one is a smidge smaller.
  21. I have this one saved as being from St. Mary's. Does that sound correct? It's 5/8 (.62) inches.
  22. Maybe a flame-ette? It's got 4 tips. The other has 5 tips. Pretty sure they are both Alley- correct? The one on the left is 2/3 (.66) inch, the one on the right is 5/8 (.62) inches.
  23. Not JABO. Vitro I believe.
  24. It's from the Tribute to Friendship Run on 3/5/09. The Ace's run also used that pink champagne glass, but it's too small to be from that run. From 2008 to early 2012 JABO had what are called "Experimental Runs". They were mainly runs where a group of investors would pool their money to pay for the run and then divide up the resulting marbles. This is from one of those runs.
