  1. Never having found one in the wild I'm stoked! Even if has been polished I'm just happy that it's real! Looks like I have some reading to do.
  2. Thanks Chad! Thanks Rick! It measures about 1 & 1/8. Here are a couple more photos.
  3. Bought this collection today for $160. Some Germans, some slags, a few vintage machine made, some modern handmade and a sulphide which I think is a fake. There are some Jabo and Mega marbles too. Is the blue machine made a Spiderman? Anything someone needs a closer look at?
  4. Blue, gray & white swirl. The colors remind me of a blue jay. Measures 5/8.
  5. Great information! Many thanks to all!
  6. Ravenswood on the left, Champion on the right?? Or something else? Both measure 5/8." Thanks!
  7. If I made it, I would have signed it. It's a gorgeous marble for sure and one the maker can be proud of. I've looked over it over with a loop a couple of times now and nothing. I knew it was a long shot and I truly appreciate everyone's input. Thanks!
  8. I'm guessing that this is modern. It's not signed, dated or initialed. Measures about 27/32. Any tips on how to ID?
  9. Clear base with tangerine orange & white ribbons. Measures 17/64. Orange ribbons are pretty wide and are not just on the surface. Some type of Vacor maybe??
  10. I paid up for a bag of marbles today. I'm hoping I didn't overpay. The glass seems to be a higher quality than most Jabos. CAC or Alley?? It measures 21/32. Thanks!
  11. Appearance wise there is nothing remarkable about this marble. Size wise though it measures 1 1/4 inches. It's verneered. The blue patch makes me think newer MK. Could it be Vitro? Did they even make marbles this size?
  12. I'm happy with it Schmoozer, and you are so right! "Buy it when you see it." I've put items back before to "think about it" and came back and they were gone! Ron, as always, thanks for sharing. Your knowledge and generosity are very much appreciated. Many thanks y'all and good hunting!
  13. Thanks. The iPhone takes pretty good photos. Thanks again!
  14. Thanks Ron. I will put with the Type Ones. Thanks again!
  15. The only other interesting thing I found today is this Vitro. Blended Tiger Eye? Measured 5/8.
  16. Awesome! Thanks Chad! Thanks Ron!
  17. Thanks Alan. I learned the hard way about "fantasy bags" and I really overpaid in the past for Jabos and newer MK. I think this one is real though. Still paid too much but I think it's cool.
  18. I bought this bag of marbles today at an antique store. The seam looks right, flat staples and the hole is large enough to hang over a capped soda bottle. Is this a "real" giveaway or just a very good fantasy bag? Marbles are swirls, probably Alley. The bag is pretty cloudy. Does anyone see anything special?
  19. Great information! Thanks y'all! So I Googled "Akro Sisterville Patch" and up popped a Marbleconnection link. It took me to a posting that Steph made June 15, 2010 that features photos and a narrative by Ron about marbles found at Sistersville. A very interesting read. The story of my Sistersville patch is not nearly as intriguing. Mine came from the bottom of a jar filled with overpriced Asian Cat Eyes, but I still think it's pretty cool that I now won one! I love the history. Thanks again guys for sharing!
