  1. Thanks again! I woulda bet that was a bubble because it had no surface exposure but just got out my loupe and sure enough, looks like a hit . One of my better ones I thought so kinda sad. It’s fun to have so much to learn but I can see it’s a long way up the hill yet. Ya’ll are so kind to pass on all your knowledge. hope you enjoy seeing new marbles. I’ll try to find some more I think might be worth an ID.
  2. Wow and wow and wow. Thanks Chad for all the great info. I guess I’ll put the Wiger in my “hope to be a real collector someday” cabinet.
  3. Oh heavens!! And first and foremost….thanks Steph for your novice honed description 💕
  4. sheesh, bubble are hard to photograph 😅 So then this guy may be a lemonade…same size as the egg yolk. Maybe too opaque?
  5. Me again, with my vast knowledge about virtually nothing when it comes to marbles. Is learning about them a one step forward two steps back kind of process? I sure feel that way. I read all of this info and see all these pics and it feels like it just seeps out my ears. Somewhere I read about those whispy little lashes in the last pic but now can’t remember what it was in regards to. And lastly…is a bubble in a marble a good or a bad thing? Or is that a complex question?
  6. A Wiger…love that. Sounds like maybe that one’s a keeper. It has a couple tiny chips but as I’ve read around here, maybe a good “placeholder”,lol. I’m slowly learning thanks to all you great folks. One last question. Is it improper to measure a marble with decimals instead of fractions? I thought I read somewhere it was frowned upon. Just wondering since all I have is one of those slide measures. I guess I could try to harness my grade school math knowledge and attempt to figure out how to convert decimals back to fractions 🤦🏼‍♀️
  7. Thanks for the help everyone Seems more red but definitely has some currents of orange in there.
  8. Those are wonderful! I collect old buttons and love the bakelites. Never have I seen something this wonderful. A marriage of two of my favorite things, buttons and marbles.
  9. Would this be considered a wasp? I really am trying hard on this ID thing but always seem to come up with the wrong ID 😂 I’ll just keep trying. I love marbles that much. I’m invested in this relationship 😂 I’m having a terrible time capturing the AV.
  10. Bump. Anyone else know of other marbles with this glass combo?
  11. Thanks so much everyone…looks like it will just go back in the cool marble category
  12. Thanks for pointing me to this thread. Great to see everyone’s wishes listed. I have a big jar of conquerors and tiger eyes mixed up. I’ll have to check to see if any of them look exotic. Somewhere I’d once seen a good description of all the vitro tigers and conquerors. I’ll have to find that again.
  13. That makes perfect sense…thanks! I so appreciate you sharing all your snippets of knowledge. I’ll still be on the hunt for more with that peachy pink glass!
  14. 🤦🏼‍♀️ You can say that again! Hoping to go to the show in Reno,NV at the end of the month. Maybe that’ll learn me somethin’
  15. Sorry if I’m asking dumb questions, but why would you lean toward dug? Ive drooled over those marble digs for years. I couldn’t even imagine?! Have they done Peltier ones?
  16. Thanks, I’ll have to start looking for that detail. Ugh….so much to learn. I guess I’m a lot further than I was in the beginning of my affliction so there’s hope
  17. Thanks! I’m such a sucker for all the different colors of glass. When I find one I like, like that peachy pinkish color, I just want more.
  18. Heres another pretty one I’m wondering about. Does anyone know of a size reference guide or thread? I’d like to be a little more knowledgeable about what sizes were common for which makers. I recently just watched Stephen Bahr’s video about the Peltier peewee machine. Was so cool to see the actual machine my tiny pelts were made on. Sooo cool!
  19. I’ve been gaga over this one for a while. I just love the color combo. Maybe because it’s unique to me Always on the look out for similar. What is she? And am I a weirdo for assigning genders to certain marbles, lol. Thanks again for all the help. It’s definitely fueling my marble fire.
  20. I think it just means that your exceptionally good at what you do, lol. If I got paid to collect I’d be a mighty wealthy gal. 😂
  21. “Sgiggles” 😂 I put those there to look like my marbles rolling away from me, like I’ve lost my marbles. Which happened many years ago. Not that anyone would’ve ever known that’s why I did that unless they had the misfortune of commenting on it 😁 I’ll look forward to the WIHO thread. With my lack of ID knowledge I might just have someone’s WIHO in my hoard. And yes, Go Badgers! Even out in Oregon we always root for the Badgers 🦡 My Grandpas alma mater.
  22. I’d love to see a WIHO thread from all of you pro collectors. It would be a good reference for what to really look out for 😬Instead of feeling like I need to take home every marble I find 🤦🏼‍♀️
  23. Thanks Steph. I so appreciate all the feedback I can get I’ve really got to get to a marble show one of these days so I can get my paws on the real deals and get an eye for them.
  24. I’m new around here but figured I should chime in in this thread every now and again since I’m always on the hunt for marbles. Went to the flea today and found some to make me smile. Keep in mind I’m not the most discerning collector. But for $15 was happy to hire Jack’s tow service to haul this raggedy German (1.5”) home for me. The others I believe to be mostly wire pulls(??still learning so if wrong please bonk me on the noggin) … for a dime a piece I had to swoop ‘em. The blue one has what I believe to be a pretty pronounced pontil (again, love feedback because still learning) the little frosty one was also a curiosity. Never seen one like that before. It’s about .51
