  1. This is a marble made with silver oxide
  2. This is what I found.. "FumΓ©": This term refers to the effect of a translucent, smoky patina, obtained through the use of substances that, reacting with hot glass, deposit a thin colored layer, giving depth and mystery. Gold/Silver: These are not foil applications, but the result of a chemical-physical process that "fixes" metal atoms on the surface or inside the glass, creating iridescent reflections that change with the light, like in a metallic soap bubble. Vaporization/Sputtering: Spraying metal ions onto the glass to create an extremely thin and uniform film. Flashing: Immersing the molten glass in chemical baths containing gold or silver salts, which deposit to create the desired colors. Artistic Effect: This creates marbles that appear to contain a metallic aura, a moonlit reflection (smoky silver), or a warm sunlit glow (smoky gold), transforming a common object into a unique piece of contemporary art, often used in jewelry or glass art. In summary, for the artist, gold and smoked silver are colors and textures achieved through the chemistry of metals and glass, not the metal itself, to create unique light and color effects in marbles.
