  1. Hi All,

First of all, please be careful out there. I am fully vaccinated and had the booster as well. I caught the variant and am still suffering strange symptoms, neurological, physical and just in general, I am out of sorts.

I will be posting some of my marbles on the forum as soon as I am able. I have 35 new bags I cannot identify 100% and I do not want to overwhelm the board with queries. If it gets to be too annoying, please let me know. I sincerely appreciate your help and will try to limit posting to 2 or 3 at a time. I thank you in advance and wish you and your families a very happy holiday season.

    Best,

    Gina

I was lucky enough to find this #200 tin with the original inserts. The latch was intact. The box needed some tender work; it was pretty beat up and well faded.  Two thirds of the marbles needed back-filling and I had to find a pouch.

I found a pouch that needed work and I think that I did quite well; it looked like it came out of a cow barn when I purchased it. The pouch took a lot of work and research on just how to handle it and clean it, as did the tin box.

Believe it or not the hardest marbles to backfill were the red onyx. These show up with a bubble filled base glass more often than not. The ones that I was backfilling/trying to match were pretty well cooked with few bubbles. I will admit that finding green Flintie’s is a challenge but I only needed one of them and one of the brown.

I like to scan an image of the cover on this type of box to place inside of the cover; it displays better that way IMHO.

I have an original set of rules that came in the 150 boxes that I may scan and put with it, but I have not found any evidence that this size tin came with them.

This is about as accurate regarding “as sold in condition” that I could come up with through lots of research.

Doing this, rebuilding boxes, of any type or make, is my passion. This one kept me out of trouble for a long time.

On to the next, or maybe some trouble----😁

    Marble—On!!!

It is a very nice set,

You did a great restoration-the pouch looks new. Great job.

  3. Merci beaucoup, mon ami. BTW I found a huge Spock head at this place Doc found. He's giving the V sign-Live Long and Prosper Gorn! I think I love JABOs now, I've found the nicest ones lately. Remember I was CAC girl-trouble is the more familiar one becomes with the variety and beauty of each company, the more you love and therefore MUST HAVE! Best to you, have you posted those HTF ones from Vegas or ones you were waiting to be mailed to you? I might have missed your posts. Thank you.

  4. Hi all, just a few questions,

Are there submarine marbles made by companies other than Peltier and did Peltier make a dragon submarine? Are there Golden or Sun Dragons or is that just a name for Flaming Dragons? Tornadoes and Cyclones are they exclusive to CACs or did more manufacturers produce them? Finally, do any of you ever find a marble and see something in it that may not be discernable to anyone else?

    Thank you,

    Gina

Nice cat Gina, I am sure that I would rather lift the marble though.

Here are a couple of Pelts,  the 1" rainbo is on a piece of what I think is Houze--a lamp part, the Houze is not oxblood but I think that it wants to be. The rainbo is just one of those things that pops up if you really inspect your marbles. Oxblood as a bonus is always a good thing in my book.

The next is a Pelt multicolor, yellow, robins egg blue, white. These multicolors are one of my favorite color combinations of all marbles out there. This color combo is sometimes blessed with the occasional splurt of oxblood as a result of no intentional act as I understand it.

    Marble--on!!

That third marble is “tres magnifique.” Your photography is excellent. I’m learning and was told to go outside to photograph, I never have the light right or something is off. I am trying to learn and I appreciate your comments. I knew nothing about marbles except my brother collected them in the fifties and he stepped on a landmine in Vietnam in 1969; so, my Papa encouraged me to collect them in his honor, because my brother was my life. From now onmy husband will take my photos, I won’t include a bit of whimsy. Thank you for teaching me, I do not mean to appear unappreciative or defiant. I am so happy to be in a group of knowledgeable collectors and those who have made history like the WV guys. I appreciate each and every one of you. You all have welcomed me and made me feel like a part of a family, what could be better? Thank you all for everything.
