So good to put a face to the name Gina, you're smile is infectious, thank you for posting, my ugly mug can also be found here on this thread  somewhere  !!  Ah yes I backtracked a bit & looked, a family shot with me the towering behemoth standing in the middle  image.png.43ffefa80ef0cd85ef02242f308b9006.png

“Thou doth protest too much”-you have a beautiful family and you are beautiful from the inside-out!

Some people enjoy being toxic. I don’t want to give them a minute of my day anymore. It’s not worth if. Besides… we could be a bunch of Wingnuts who collected pieces of gravel and then I think some of that c**p would have made sense. Or night crawlers

Life is much too short! I hadn’t seen what she wrote on the other post about the group, who would say that?

Knowledge. Friendship. Fun experience. Respect. Her loss in all of the above. If it wouldn't have been you, Gina, it would have been someone else. Heck, she probably would have called me a dumb*** for using the wrong worms to fish with! 🎣 🤣

Speaking of fishing I had a fishing buddy who I used to go with, he passed at 53 yrs and was a purebred Cherokee and he loved catfish. His secret to catching them was tobacco worms. Otherwise, she indeed lost out on a great group of people and although it upset me at first, I was in college at fifteen so, I am not stupid.

Was itching to score yesterday so instead of coming home empty handed, I picked up this set of what is referred to as ShiShi Lions by Fitz and Floyd. Supposed to be rare (that's usually said about everything lol), but rare doesn't always equate into $. I found only 2 sets online thus far for sale, 1 set for $150 and the other for $175. I paid $37. Not bad, if legit, but I liked them anyway. Until further research I'll say I did well 😊

    I love them!

Speaking of rocks, I am supposed to be working with my raw material (agates) that I have picked thus far. Hasn't happened and wondering if I will ever get too it anytime soon. The problem, I became a marbleaholic 😊

Same here, I haven't touched mine in weeks.

  6. I’m Gina, I’m mostly Scandinavian. I’ve lived all over, however I was born in Richmond, Va. I’ve collected rocks since I was 5. I’ve had asthma since birth and now in addition, bronchiectasis and a host of other delightful ailments, but I always have a smile on my face. I love riding horses more than just about anything, trouble is I have to have the handler bring them out to me because I’m allergic to hay! I love music and playing the piano and singing. I also am a birdwatcher and take ornithology classes online at Cornell University. I am old (61) and still like adventureI I started collecting marbles because my beloved older brother used to have his bag of marbles and  when the Crow I feed shelled peanuts to every day, left me one that looked like blue lace agate, I took it to be a sign. I hate posting my photo and please don’t be horrified-I just had surgery-this is me, no makeup, just an old lady.

  7. I bought one of these and have been in the land of glowies for days- I even found some in the cullet from Pennsboro. So much fun, that’s the great thing about marbles they take you back, because I was back in my lavender bedroom circa 1973 with black lights and posters listening to Pink Floyd, “Us and Them.” Lava lamp too! I was a young child and thought I was so cool trying to emulate my older sister! You all have a great rest of your day. The husband will be home soon so I have to be resting.

My Grandfather & thus my Mother were from Wisconsin. My great great Grandmother was 100% Chippewa Indian, also from the great lakes region.

The Meg tooth sounds great & a pretty reasonable price to. It seems the closer you get to the source the more expensive things get. That tooth would be a couple hundred here at least, 7" is a big one alright. Glad you found a place to get what your interested in at decent prices. Over the years I've made friends with many shop and mall owners & even grew up with a few. Honesty really goes a long ways as long as it's mutual, it took a while but now I know when I'm getting skinned. Strange we have an Onalaska WA. about 45 minutes from here. Truly a small, small world we live in.

Really enjoying the pix William, keep em comin    I have a bunch of pix of my hobbies & so forth posted if you click on my avatar & the about me section there. I've posted several of the pix before & some I haven't. I'm the big one in all the pix, some are quite old some newer, you'll unfortunately see the age progression in me as you look at the pix. Good grief I feel old !! Also a great deal on the rose quartz, a guy here in town will make you what ever you want, mostly names, inscribed hearts, dice and other shapes. He uses several different gemstones, quartz, amethyst, carnelian, blood agate etc... I'll "try" & remember to get some pix of his work & post it here.

Chippewa Chad! I like that! “The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down……”,  they are also known as Ojibwa or Ojibway it means something like puckered moccasin ones, one of my dearest friends was Chippewa. Now I have another! William, I have collected rocks since I was five years old. I am so happy to be a part of this group. You all make me smile and quite happy!

Oh yeah! Nobody has been there since my brother in law and I that last day. Pretty overgrown on the banks, had to take time to clear it out. If the flow was better than it is the surface wouldn't been so bad either. That time of year for that stuff. The big ones evaded me but were hitting the surface hard out in the middle. Tried various lures but they wouldn't take them.

I could eat that spot right now, my mother used to fry them up for me, I love fresh fish. Here, rockfish(that’s what they’re called colloquially-not sure if it’s striped bass or what), are my fave, but no one can cook like your mother. We still have to go to Florida just for a weekend so my husband can eat his mother’s food! He’s lucky to still have her. I would be right there fishing with you William-you’d have to bait the hook though!

We fixed the problem as fast as we could.  I hoped you managed to miss it altogether.

You are more than welcome here Gina, no apologies necessary, you didn't cause any problems. I was hoping you wouldn't have to endure that beyond rude comment either.

Well, I have fretted over my post all morning because I called her a child, young lady should have been used. I am sorry. Thank you both for your support Steph and Chad!
