Agreed.......very nice group.

Oh, Christmasy!

Tire kickers............LOL

You did really well for controlling exposure there. I have a senior portrait session coming with a girl that wants her photos taken outdoors on her black snowmobile...........looking forward to the challenge.....sorta. LOL

I don't think keeping a collection together should ever be the primary motive. You never know what the buyer is instantly going to do so your intentions can immediately go out the window. Do you really think it's an in its entirety intact collection? Better chance that it's a purposely presented group. I'd still be interested in some comments re. the End of Days. Other than the uncommon Sulphides those should be the money marbles and they look 'different.' Would appreciate comments about them by someone like Lloyd.....David
Nevermind......

Great pics. And the ex-spraypaint agitator description made me LOL.

I bet the 100 bucks (or less per marble) isn't far off. Lots of small marbles in there, and its a large group = large sum of money. They should have broke the collection down if they wanted to increase profits. But, perhaps they wanted the collection to remain together and go as a whole. I'd love to have it myself.

Hope you had a good one Griff.

Nice shot. Merry Christmas. I have a feeling Santa isn't gonna bring any marbles this year.

I was totally jazzed with the slag remelt until I took the cooled marble out of my kiln the next morning, 8 1/2 hours later. It went in with perfect condition on the surface but cooled with small cracks. It is because the original glass that made each slag had compatibility issues that will only show up later after is tools from 1450 degrees F down to room temperature. I always say, "The glass will do what IT wants to do!"
Really? I haven't seen any cracks on that one. There are a few sub-surface bubbles on the back (which was really chipped, so not too surprising), but no cracks anywhere. Even the camera didn't pick up anything.
Now I am confused. Seems Rich is referring to the marble that cracked all to hell that you showed pictures of cracked all to hell............but now you say you don't see the cracks? i see the cracks. LOL

Red/green/white
Powder blue/yellow/white is not too uncommon.

I would not rule out a redo. The main reason I believe it to be new work is I have never(unless dug)seen a marble of this stature with such funky unfinished pontils. The surface also looks wrong to me.
I agree about the surface. But that one photo looks to show a discolored section of the clear glass. Just wondering if it isn't a patch job and the "fixer" fudged up the surface.

Is there a really slight glow under UV? Also looks like a funky spot on there........patched maybe?
-
Well, at least this ones not from Uranus................
Cool, and good job.

Can you take a photo of it underwater so we can better see the lobes?
-
That looks like a good day there Clyde. Is that a baitshop?

Weird that the one box is missing the weatherbird logo on the left side.
-
Yes, 3/4 and it would appear the one in the case is 3/4 if the smaller marbles on the left edge are around 5/8.
-
That would be awesome Derrick. You da Man!
It'll be after the first of the year before I am home, but PM or email your address in case I lost it.

Thanks for showing them. That clear pinkish base with the aventurine rules. I was eyeing one of those before.
The one from the Ace run? I think I have a few of those left Dog, I can send you a couple when I get back to the house from this job. No charge. Let me know.
