Thanks Joe! Thanks Fire! I'm marking it's I.D. as Vacor. I appreciate your knowledge base. Let me post examples of the other two varieties. They are most likely Vacors like you say.
-
Thanks for your input! I had not considered---Are you thinking Imperial? Maybe?
-
Thanks again Fire. I appreciate your help. I have a few others that seem similar in red and blue. Would pics of them help to determine a better I.D.??
-
Thanks! It is a current favorite. Vacor would be great. Early Vacor??
-
Thanks! If it is a WVS it would be the first of its kind in my collection. Best wishes!

Thank you for the new information. I hadn't thought about a name-- good call! Thanks!

Thank you! I appreciate your taking a stab at it. I haven't a clue.

Maybe a red Akro snake? Gorgeous marble!! The reds are deep and lush!

Howdy folks-- Here is one from my collection that has me stumped. Being new, I was taking pics of it, and became captivated by its 'quenching grape juice beauty'. " I'll have a Vanilla ice cream/Grape soda float with a straw thank you!" What is it? Who made it? I' hope that you can help me find out. I think that it is a slag- but that is as far as I am willing to guess. While photographing, I could not fine any seam or pinch mark. Thanks for any input. Dionysus be thanked. P.S. Sorry for the sweater fuzz and cat hair. My bad---

Hey folks-- I have another marble picked from the pile that I need help with. It is my first 'Super Jumbo' at 1 5/8". Any theories and advice would be welcome.

Hey folks-- I picked out a marble from the pile and, after watching the video (Steven Bahr) about slags, I wondered what I might have. I took the pics with my phone--sorry for the lack of quality. The reason explained by the content of the slag video is that the top might be a nine with a tucked in tail.... maybe? Any advice would be great. Thanks!

Thank you! Because of your advice and knowledge, I discovered eight classic cork screws and one snake C.S. in my collection! I have bagged and labeled them. I even took a look at them under the scope! Tiny worlds unto themselves!

Thank you! That site is a great resource for all things marble related! Bookmarked it. Best wishes

Hey Folks, I am 60-ish, new to the hobby, but VERY interested! My Aunts tried to get me interested in Marbles when I was a kid, but I was somehow immune. Recently, I was watching YouTube videos on blowing glass and clicked onto one of Steve Bahr's contributions, and got bit by the bug---hard! Now I have full blown chronic-ongoing 'Marble Flu'! It is a bit overwhelming. As I started viewing and lightly studying, it became obvious that this could be an endless study full of gentle entertainment. I've been checking out antique shops here in S.L.C. and found tiny treasures. Identifying these jewels is a formidable task, but a great collection starts with one marble in the hand. I heard of a guy on Facebook who buys certain loads of marbles in lots, take the ones he likes, bags up the rest and deposits them anonymously where kids might find them! I wish to start this open ended form of Geocaching with marbles that I don't need, but someone else might want. Spread the wealth. I include a small note in each plastic bag that states: these marbles are" finders/keepers", "start your collection with the treasures they have just found, and Do Not eat them!!!'. I will have lots of questions and appreciate your patience. Now back to adding to my Marble study Journal, and peeping through the magnifying glass. Best wishes- and may all good latticinios be yours

I know we are not supposed to 'eat' marbles, but these collections make my mouth water and my eyes pop! I wish that they still sold sets in this fashion today instead of netted bags.

Thank you very much! I need to write this down! I'm keeping a marble study journal, and this information will be a great addition to my growing knowledge base. Thanks again an Best wishes!!

Howdy folks, I have a question about Akro cork screws. Is Akro the only company known to make those classic cork screws- like snakes, Pop eyes etc., or did other companies also contribute their own variety of C.S.'s? When I see a C.S. in a bin, or collection in someone's attic, am I safe to call it an Akro, or are there other contenders to that title? Just a beginner here, please be patient. Thanks and best wishes
