  1. The second pic is hard to tell. They got seriously smacked. Try taking multiple pics of each marble showing all sides. That will help us I.D. it more accurately.
  2. The 1st one is a Vitro 'all red'. The guy who started the company loved the color red and wanted most all of his marbles to contain that color somewhere. When this little guy spins, it looks like it is a red marble. That is why they call them 'All Reds' even though there are other colors on the mib.
  3. I vote--still a member of the troop! Really nice marble!
  4. This is what I found concerning 'Orange crush' marbles. This might add confusion, but at least it give us an idea where to study about it. .....After other comments reminded me, I previously forgot about 'fantasy bags' (meant to deceive)... sorry--my bad.

    MK ?

Makes me think 'Watermelon' with extra rind...Beautiful mib!!
  6. I will be sure to label all of mine with that information. Thank you for clearing things up. This has given me a new appreciation of DAS, SMM, and JABO marbles. Best wishes.
  7. I'll vote with you---a john Deere---with a wonky paint job on the fenders
  8. I vote Peltier something...where's the salt?
  9. $35 for big ones plus S & H.
  10. Interesting points of view have been shared.
  11. Black cat's eyes are worth collecting imo. They aren't that common; and they have a striking beauty all their own- no matter who made them.
  12. On the 1st marble, do the seams look like "U"'s and do they face each other; as if laying on their sides round end to round end?
  13. With those observations, my vote is Pelt "rotten" banana. Others need to add 2 cents though...
  14. I'm not sure... Here are a few example pics from my Peltier file; plus I have a couple that look like the OP as well. The pics offered were taken from google images and other forum posts on Pelts... confused....
  15. Experts need to weigh in. How many veins?- even small ones count. Peltier did make black bananas ("rotten Bananas"); but they usually have one vein. This might be foreign; but it is very beautiful! I've never seen those brown stripes before in a cat's eye. For that alone it is a valued keeper imho.
  16. Now that is a very pretty marble! I vote Jabo and/or Champion!
  17. Most (90%-ish) of my collection, I have discovered is made up of marbles that are hardly worth anything at all. I still love them all and technically have- in hand examples- of what not to buy in the future. Being very much a beginner here, I can understand where you are coming from. Don't loose heart. Enjoy the marbles that you have. If you really want high end valuable marbles, then keep studying-a lot of studying, and stick with this site. You can go to marble shows and buy amazing treasures, or connect with very reputable dealers, like Cedarman and buy on ebay. The world is your marble bag. Pull out a couple and start investigating. Half the fun is finding out what you've got in hand, and then scouring shops and garage sales for marbles that you might like. Even though the marble that you posted isn't what you thought it was, it is still really cool! I've never seen anything like it! Your marble is truly unique and special! Stick with the folks here- best marble support group ever! They will give you their honesty and advice. Rare gifts indeed.
  18. I vote an industrial marble that has some really cool impurities in it...like the original wire-pulls.
  19. 22mm's? No wonder those cold rolls are so big and deep. I vote Asian--maybe King Marble Co.
  20. I agree with Caterpillar. The broken nose three times is the lie.
  21. You are lucky!! I've heard that San Diego is mighty beautiful. Never been myself but I can wish.
  22. Cool! ...then the lie is..."you lived in Texas"
  23. The 1st one at 1"7/8ths, is now 1" 3/4-(ish)... before and after pictures. Matthew DeGraffenried is excellent! Considering the condition is was in to begin with, I am delighted and impressed with his efforts and the final result. Personally, I think it well worth the money spent to give this beauty a new and protected life.
