  1. Wow that’s nice. Boy if that thing could talk. B-rett
  2. I got these for my son for Christmas. I hope he gets me something similar 😀 B-rett
  3. The steel rod looks like a jewelers ring size tool. B-rett
  4. Tommy, that's actually 1/2 inch felt. I've had it for years can't remember where I got it. with the egg shell foam you can only get 15 marbles in one container. With the felt there are 24. B-rett
  5. It does have a pontil on one end and what looks like a fold line on the other side. When I first seen it in the jar I thought it was an onion skin. LOL. Couldn’t get that lucky. B-rett
  6. Anyone have any ideas. I’ve seen some that look close but not sure. Really cool lookin marble.
  7. OK so I’m starting to accumulate several marbles. I’ve made wooden cases, cigar boxes, pistol cases, peanut butter jars, mason jars and you name it. I stopped by the hobby shop and picked up this case and it had 16 smaller cases inside. I have some felt and a hole punch set so I thought I would do a little trial and error. I’m sure I’ll figure something out. I plan on putting some name tags on them so I can just dig in there and get what I want. When they’re in the display case I put them in the wooden box with the glass face. What do you guys use? B-rett
  8. Thanks Ric, that’s awesome
  9. Awesome. Do these colors have a name?
  10. I think I might have a peltier here. Me and the daughter did a little pickin yesterday. While we were checking out I noticed a bowl full of cat eye game marbles and I found this one in the bunch. Gave a $1.00 for it. Is this a NLR rainbow?
  11. Djp, I know how you feel about misidentification. I’ll show my son a really cool marble that I thought I positively ID’d and he says “nope”. Close but no cigar. Some marbles are really close in appearance. I’m learning though. Learning particular colors and manufacturing process, like knowing what a hand gathered marble looks like or the different types of pontils. The list goes on. I’ve picked up several books about marble company history and processes , searched the marble web sites for particular Marble characteristics and I’m finding it’s a steep task. B-rett
  12. Yes I agree. My granddaughter laughed when I called it a peewee. B-rett
  13. Wow, LOL. Thanks for the heads up. It’s exciting to find a marble that looks like one you’ve seen in a book or on-line and you hope that it is rare and worth lots of money but in all reality it’s about the time you spend with your kids or buddy searching for lost treasure so to speak that matters. My 3 1/2 year old granddaughter thinks they are all priceless. I get the biggest kick out of watching her look for the ones that glow. Thanks for your help. I’m slowly leaning what to look for to identify this seemingly endless task. It’s a fun ride. B-rett
  14. I’ve been trying to ID this one for some time now. Hoping someone here can help. Looks like a 9 and the tail goes a little more than half way around. By the way, it’s .505 so that makes it a peewee. Thanks B-rett
  15. Since you said Jabo I looked at some with amber color and then I found this CAC. My lighting is different but similar. Are there any other characteristics of CAC and Jabo I need to look for in my marble ?
  16. I hope this is a score. My daughter bought a small jar of 11 marbles for $5.00 this one was in it. There was a few other cool ones but this one made me sit up. I’m hoping it’s a CAC turkey head. At .605 it small but not a peewee. Very translucent amber color. B-rett

  19. They will be displaying somehow not sure how yet. The wheels are turning.
  20. Fire1981, I wouldn’t call it a high jacked , it’s taking the thread to the next level. Lately I’ve seen dozens of stools, tables and early kitchen appliances with the clear spheres but very few with the handmade swirles. Make me wonder what was so special about the piece they were used on.
