  1. Im working on it, unfortunately my brain is a seive... In the meantime, as I try to gather the different traits, at least I can just enjoy looking at them.
  2. I've got quite a few green wvs, I always think I'm going to figure them out but the subtleties in the different shades makes it tough!
  3. @The Nickel Guy, sorry for my misdirection, just trying to shake things up a bit 😅
  4. Aha- Just checked and think you are correct about the 3 on the right, cheers!
  5. Thanks for the input, I'll look up Bluejays. The groups are separate, those on the right came with a load of other Japanese transitionals, the 3 on the left are from a mixed vintage lot, but there were a few vacors in it.
  6. I believe these may be relatives... All bubbly to varying degrees and I think demonstrate other matching traits.
  7. Brilliant, thanks for encouraging me to give it another go. After a bit of experimentation I settled on black background, in a glass of water. Feel like I've graduated in some way now that I've been fishing round with a wet hand, trying to get the best part of a swirl upright 😀
  8. I'll take that as my answer, thanks. Glad I finally know what they look like.
  9. Thanks. It came with this one which I had pegged as Alley, so that makes more sense.
  10. Range from about 13.8-15.8mm Do opaque whisplers even exist?
  11. 5/8 Struggling to capture the depth and variety of colour on this swirl, had to use flash to get as close as I could. Tan, then thin red line, then grayish purple and brown, all seem opaque.
  12. Wishing you all the best for your recovery. Finding this hobby and forum also came to me at a very difficult time in my life, just when I needed it. The respect between users, passion displayed and the neverending beauty and mystery of these marbles means it is such a nice place to spend time.
  13. @shiroaiko, that is very good advice. Most of my lots have come from Ebay sellers, and I suppose it never occurred to me to ask history as I didn't want to 'bother' anyone unnecessarily, especially those trying to make a living. Some people may even appreciate the interest.
  14. Wow! Absolutely beautiful 😍
  15. I'm glad you said this, I keep almost mixing my best lot into the other groups, but something keeps holding me back, I will make sure it remains together.
  16. And I've just realised that this one is probably part of the family too, not a wonky peltier, as thought (and agreed on here, oops), clearly showing that context can be very important. @I'llhavethat1 got it right I think, despite being the lone voice on that ID.
  17. In fact, these came in the collection too, which definitely point towards Japanese to me after looking at your pictures.
  18. I've had these set aside from a nice collection I got a few months ago, not quite sure if they all belong together but my intuition on the 2 smaller ones has been telling me Japanese origin...
  19. Yes, good point. Seike isn't one that I've spent a lot of time looking into yet (I had forgotten that I intended to at some point, probably getting distracted by another avenue), so will spend some time seeing what I notice.
  20. And finally...I think we are all agreed these are definitely veiligglas?
  21. A real beauty. I've added some with a couple of the opaques to show some strong similarities in the surface lines.
  22. 31/32, lovely bright orange. This one confused me a bit, so I took some pictures with the smaller orange and white ones from the Gibson solitaire board. The shade is very similar, but I think the definition of the lines and glass quality can clearly be seen to differ.
  23. Pretty standard, but nice clear structureto the lines, 29/32.
