I believe this is a DAS marble. I have about 10 or 20 of these types of marbles up for grabs. You can find my contact info on here.

Haha, thanks, but after the tax bill and vehicle costs I've had this week, I'm out of the market for a while!

If the edge is somewhat rounded (appears like it might be), it is an annealing flaw where the missing piece popped off.  It doesn't appear to be flat-spotted.

Yeah, from the little I know about these things "annealing fracture " was something I thought, as it's such a clean edge...

  3. So these were all sold as Sammy's, but I definitely think at least 2 are Jabo classic, 1 is DAS, and maybe more are jabo contract runs, but I don't quite know how to distinguish. If anyone can ID the run of any of these, I'd love to hear suggestions...

The white, yellow and brown one below is 3/4 so I'm pretty sure it's DAS, and the other picture here is the glamour shot of the damaged one I put up on the ID thread. The rest to follow.

    I like this stuff Ric,

As you know, I am into Lego.

I have a big south facing window that I set up in . I soak up the sun along with my dogs, listen to music and keep the mind busy.

    Great stuff!

    Marble--On!!

You might like this then - me (mostly) and my son made this around Halloween last year. It was really tricky getting the roof of the crypt to open properly but I figured it out eventually. It's was also quite tricky to capture it with photos but I tried my best.

I like this marble. It got thrown off the rollers because the next marble behind it kicked it into the pit or something like that. Sure it’s a misfit but it’s still a nice little piece of almost round glass. Now ? What Run and When🔥

    RAR

Yeah, luckily we can see the charm of the little one having its insides on show. And yep, it definitely means it can easily be displayed anywhere without rolling away...

  6. Seriously- how on earth would this happen?

In UK there isn't much opportunity to buy Sammy's, so when I spotted 15 for sale, I excitedly purchased them...

Well, I was slightly mislead, as 2-3 appear to be Jabo, this one is damaged. The others are absolutely stunning, so I'm still very happy with them, but I'm pretty sure they are a mix of Sammy's and DAS. I'll put pictures up later.

Yes, One way you can tell it is newer is that the colors of the polar patches match. On older patch and ribbon style Marble Kings, you might have a polar patch color that matches the two equatorial ribbons (a single color Rainbow), or you could have one color on the polar cap and another color for the equatorial ribbons (two color Rainbow), or the colors of the polar patch and each of the equatorial ribbons might be different (a Tricolor Rainbow). Of course, there are many variations of this basic scheme, with different bases, lots of different hybrids and blends, and many of the more colorful styles are named. But one thing is usually true, the colors of the polar regions on the older marbles will be different, and on the newer ones they will usually be the same.

Of course, this is just how I understand it.

    🙂

Thanks for that, I have about 40 that I've set aside as MK, I'll further sort to see what patterns emerge for me.

Here are some examples of what oxblood looks like.  Note the density and color.

Thanks ,yes, that gives me a bit more of an idea. I think the left hand one very much looks like dried blood swirls to me, so that's why I went in that direction.
