  1. I've been wondering about this one for a while. Thought it was the same as yours but not sure now...5/8. I'll do a post specifically as I've taken quite a few shots and don't want to clog your post up. It's amber when back-lit and has a few nice bubbles in there.

  2. Oops, I better get them back out of the "possibly to sell drawer". This business is so tricky, the glass is almost perfect so I thought they must be newer. I'll get some more detailed pictures up and see if there are any further comments. It looks like everyone made those red swirls though...

I remember Ron Shepherd telling me one time that if I studied hours a day, 7 days a week, for many years, I would still consider myself fortunate to be able to identify 60%-70% of what I see.

So Much out there for sure!

    👍😎

Oh boy, so I'm about 0.000000001% there then...

This one is machine made. A WVS of some sort or maker.

A really nice marble that I could never ID.

I have seen these before in hand--very cool!

@cheese will be coming out with a book describing WVS very soon.

He had a lot of help but this one( the book) is worth waiting for.

I just hope that this one is included.

    Marble--On!!

Thanks for your input. Sounds like that will be a very useful book, hope I can get one posted to the UK 😀

No pontil.  Its a machine made.  Try to not see glass defects as a "pontil".  Look at the whole marble.

Oops, thought I had it that time as it is such a perfectly circular mark. Thanks, there's so much to consider though!

  6. Almost just lost this one. Put it on the windowsill while I was taking a picture of another one and the darn cat jumped up and knocked it off. I heard it bop onto the radiator and roll out of sight...

    Anyway 21/32

My guess is vitro or peltier (if any this style exist?).

It's got what looks like a bit of a fault line running through, which I've tried to show and is very bubbly, especially on one side of the line. If pressed I'd say the line is blackish green, but not really sure on that.
