Yep, that could make sense...

There are some Foreign marbles with similar pattern, typically on transparent tinted base as well.
Good point, would you say those are the Japanese figure 8s?

Ooh, interesting. The pink on the left one seems very close to another pelt I'll put up for comparison when I get the chance.

For what is worth, I watched pretty. Cool YouTube video on cats eyes just now! Def some cool ones exist!
No, you're absolutely right. I have a bunch of keepers that I've separated out. Some just because I like the colours, others for the crazy big bubbles or crackles you can see.
Also - when I got a good lot of akro, pelts and ravenswood recently, I'd set aside the very small amount of 'junk', a couple of weeks later it occurred to me that in my excitement of all the other stuff, I'd actually assigned about 6 japanese 3 color 9 vane cats as junk!

These and benningtons are often (in my experience) the marbles people will buy for you when they find out your in to marbles. Its almost unavoidable
Oh dear, thanks for the warning.
I had high hopes, when I started collecting marbles, that I could hit up my uncle for some interesting stuff. Come Christmas and he gives me a little bag of common cats and informs me that they are "sheep's eyes"... I know he meant well, but this man has spent his life dealing antiques and doing house clearances, I dread to think what he's let slip through his fingers!

Those are modern dip-dyed ceramic marbles made by Laura Berretti out of Italy.
Aha, I did stumble across something about that. Thanks for confirmation 😀

I spotted these, so started looking things up and learning about gutta percha.
I'm not interested or confident enough in my ID skills, to bid on these, but I thought it could be a useful discussion on here. And maybe another collector might like to go for them...It's a UK auction though.

Nice Rainbo--I just love to see this type.
Nice marble!!
Marble--On!!!
Thanks. I bid a bit of a silly amount to secure the little lot this was in (don't worry, nothing too silly), because I just love that aqua colour and needed the comfort of some marble mail heading my way that week!

Akro "Silver Oxbloods" carry this type of ox.
This one is quite small--probably a dug one--but Akro imho.
I appreciate all opinons and hope to see some more.
Marble--On!!
Here's some more pics of the little 'un, on a different background to show more definition.
Because of the sense of life and movement shown within it, it honestly feels like a moment in time, captured within the glass, if that makes sense?
And that, alongside its tiny size, makes it an absolute keeper.

I'll need to save up for this, especially considering I'm going to have to negotiate UK postage if that's even going to be possible!?
I definitely need this book though 😀
Well done!

Black and white Ravenswood?
in Marble I.D.'s
Posted
This came from a collection that definitely has Ravenswoods (as confirmed on here), so that is most likely.
Thanks
