Yeah, Pennsboro Alley Agate and I'm assuming 5/8"; it's got that look. I've a set of twenty five(25) Alley Agate Flames that I've gradually upgraded to within an inch of their lives. See AMMM (2006), the Alley Agate chapter, of course. In truth I feel they should be referred to as flame-like because Christenson Agate Co. is the rightful owner of the name 'flame.' Still Alley Pennsboro turned out some beauties. David

yep, they are steph. i don't remember the year .... but at the last ottowa show. with permission and payment ... i broke dirt in the lot across from the plant. shallow at best, and didn't take long to get after the pretties. had boyce and gino cranking their necks, mike was there too, before the fun ended. but, in years since, have also been allowed to touch the ground there. some of peltiers finest came out of that dirt. ottowa has yet to be discovered ... bill

Paula, they do look like JABO. Really funny isn't it? Dug at Akro, deep down, long before JABO. Amazing what came out of the ground there.

gotta keep in mind, when akro started up, many of the marble makers from up north migrated to akro when they started business with their awesome talents. and many ... many .. early akro's show patterns that remind you of m.f. or chrissy .... bill

I'd given Steve considerable grief over the wholesale naming of marbles and protested strongly against any marble being named after me. He then threatened to name one 'Grumpy' based on my stance! Thankfully he relented and more appropriately named one of the Spring 2005 marbles 'Brassy' which is meant to represent my deserved or undeserved Marble Cop status. if this is the stuff you are looking for, it's called fun foam sheets and is made for crafting--there are pre-cut shapes available for kid's crafts. the sheets come in all colors and also comes in sticky-back. you should be able to find it at Joann Fabrics and Crafts or Michael's--i've even seen it at the dollar store--look in the kid's craft/toys section. Walmart carries it in the crafts/fabric section.

egads .... i burned nearly a tank full this wknd. " trying" to find this product. from hobby lobby to michaels to every craft shop i saw. NADAAAAA ... folks just didn't know what i was talking about ?? googled funky foam and got krylon aerosal sprays ... i guess it's a ... buy one .. and start testing. i've never seen a finished piece so am a bit confused about what to get. thanks for the thoughts on this.
