Spend a lot of time in the West Virginia Wednesday topic and look at the "Mostly Pics" threads in Steph's Study Hall. It takes considerable experience to gain proficiency and there really aren't any good substitutes or shortcuts - study, study, study, my friend.

Thank you!  I'm 55 and studying was never my strength....lol

I guess it's time to step up and adult!

This is one of those that you may never know the ID of for sure. To wit, if it was mine I'd have it with my Heatons.

Is there somewhere that I could see how to quickly (or not so quickly) differentiate between Alleys, Ravenswoods, and Heaton's.

I thought I was getting decent at picking Alleys, but a lot of my recent ones appear to be RWs.

    Thank you!

It's the marble that once was being called the Sistersville Patch, however it's been accepted by most everyone I believe that Sistersville did not make patches and these are Akros along with the other patches dug at Sistersville. They are exact matches. I've seen it called a robin egg patch a lot lately too.

Not sure I'm allowed to post links from other sites.  A match to this marble posted on Reddit a few weeks ago and received this response on it.  I called it a Robins egg, and this was a response I got.... incredible information.  I can't post the link, but here are some screen shots

I don't think this one is American. And it does look like there is something in with the green . . .

But it's hard to tell whether or not it's AV from here.

I will try to get a couple of better shots this evening

Wow ! That’s an amazing marble. My first thought was Pelt but I think it’s a Vitro. 🔥
