You put a marble where the picture is - there is a small wire loop that launches it toward the plate. The batter hits the "ball" and the game is on! The original box is neat also as it has newspaper headlines from what I recall. The basic game layout was used for other marbles games named differently. When I get back home on 15 Aug, I'll see who made it (if it says) and let you know. I mailed it home - too big to carry all the way to Maine!
