MarbleDawg86
I bought this poly advertising bag a while back, and everything I've read about them has lead me to believe it's authentic... But with so many fakes, I'm still not positive. What do y'all think? Any idea what type of marbles these may be inside. I know its hard to see them clearly, the poly is pretty cloudy... wvrons
The bag is real and original. The marbles are Alley Agate made at the St.Marys WV location, around 1950-1955. With the plastic bags, one of the first things to look for is the seam down the center of the back of the bag. This is the first sign that it is original. MarbleDawg86
Wonderful! I didn't pay an arm and a leg for it... But I was still concerned. Do you know if this particular bag is fairly common?
Al Oregon
It is not rare. It does show up on eBay once in a while. Valuewise, I'd say in the $10+ range but with Alley marbles, someone may buy higher for the marbles (I hate to open original bags but some people do). There are fake bags of the Mr. Peanut style similar to this that you have to be aware of. The fakes usually have the wording "Play the square..." although there are some real ones with that wording. The marbles make a difference so learning about them helps.
