lostafewofem
Need help I-Ding, please! This one was found in a mixed bag. All Jabos, circa 2008-2010, I think. This beauty is just over 7/8", base light blue, heavy green aventurine, some deep blue swirls, brown in places. What does it mean to have a crease in a swirl form near where I think the pontil is supposed to be located? Marble belly button? LOL! I'm new pardon my off the wall joke attempts... but I am curious. Thanks!
Steph
Ha! Marble belly button! I like it. It's fitting. The glass does come out in a stream, and sometimes you will have creases at the ends of the stream. The ends ideally are pressed smoothly into the glass but sometimes things are too cool and they don't get smoothed over entirely. Not sure if that's what you're getting at. No "pontils" on these Jabos. Possibly what someone might call a "cutline" at the end of the glass stream.
Nantucketdink
Yes that Is a JABO Eagles Run marble made on 11/11/08. The Dirty Jobs tv show with Mike Rowe filmed an episode at the plant during the run. Hope that helps.
