stephenb
This 5/8 “ Heartbreaker has screaming red/orange on black. The orange coloration isn’t picking up to well on camera. I think I’m looking at a CAC , and it looks like a double ingot. There’s quite a lot of drizzle towards the back . Any thoughts on this one ? Steph
Oh my. At 5/8", probably not a double ingot. Probably some world class cold rolls. I would not think CAC. But what?
Steph
(One reason I would not guess CAC is because of their quality control.)
stephenb
OK , thanks Steph . I'm going to try to take better photos. I'm not showing the colors right here . The color is so loud, its deafening. That's why I was thinking CAC.
stephenb
You're right , it's not a double ingot ! It's the worst case of cold roll i've ever seen !
Steph
Nothing about it particularly said Vacor to me ... but since I didn't recognize it as anything else, I went to my favorite Vacor page. So, this is my guess. https://www.billes-en-tete.com/detail.php?id=
stephenb
Thanks for the research ! I'm pretty sure it's a vintage handgathered mib, luckily it's been well preserved , absolutely mint . I'll try to take more accurate photos tomorrow . I trurned up the saturation on one photo and it's a little closer to the real marble , but not enough orange showing yet...

stephenb
Yes it's a Vacor Escorpio ! I can just barely see that oily orange-peel surface . Well done Steph ! I guess it was my own heart that got broken on this one ! Cool looking marble though , it almost makes me want to collect more ...hmmm
