Elena
I don't know anything about marbles, but I bought this (along with a few other) marbles at the thrift store and after doing a little research realized it may be hand-made as it has a pontil mark. Can anyone tell me any more information about it?
wvrons
I am not sure it is vintage handmade ? I am also not sure I see any pontil mark. What size is it ? It looks like it may be larger and maybe a contemporary newer marble. If so the pontil marks can vary a lot and may even be totally ground and polished off. If near one inch or less in may be a newer non USA machine made.
Elena
Thanks for the reply! It's 1.5 inches in diameter, and here are some better pictures showing the pontil mark up close.
Steph
Pretty sure it's a modern marble. I think a machine-made marble from Mexico. The company I have in mind was once called Vacor de Mexico, so we usually call the marbles Vacors.
